Have you seen the video from a few years back of this zone sliding? SO gnarly. There's a hanging snowfield just above where you guys were riding.

That was super cool, I’ve always wanted to drop in there but too afraid of not finding the way out back to the resort.

Wowwww, that is wild. If I was only young again to do that. I fell in and got stuck long time ago when I went off the course. You go in the backcountry intentionally, that is so cool !!!!

We started our tour at outer limits.

@@pnwadventures2746 did you start your skin up at the marked gate or on the hairpin turn where you exited. Looked like a great day 👍
@pnwadventures27462 жыл бұрын
@@haakonaasan8900 we actually traversed out from power lines and then started our skin. But you can start from the gate too.

did you helicopter up? I've been to white pass 7 times this season and haven't heard of this
@pnwadventures27462 жыл бұрын
Nope, although it would be sick! If you hike up to the ridge on the backside you can ski this stuff. It takes some work to get out though so be sure to do your research before you do anything like this.

@@pnwadventures2746 ya I’ve been to the back back side along the tree line and started my run through the trees. I’ve seen you could keep walking but I didn’t want to chance it

Hello, curious where you hiked out at, seems like it’s somewhere near the park at quad?

I just moved from Olympia to Bend this year. I've skied Black butte already and mt bachelor off season and Pilot Butte. I am really excited to go ski Mt. THIELSON and Mt. Bailey and hopefully pick mushrooms and bike around crater lake.

Sounds awesome! Plenty of skiing to do up here! I’ll be posting soon about our trip up spiral butte!

The last bit of the video it looks like you came out of the trees onto a road. I'm curious where that was? I know Ellinor pretty good and from the point you both got down the chute after that I have no idea where it is. Everytime I see skiers they are skiing down the chute going on the south side of the trail away from the upper trailhead. Then they ski down to like the lower TH 1st junction. You guys park at the TH or along the road?
@pnwadventures27464 жыл бұрын
Hey, from the top, we made it to the top of the winter chute then split to the next chute over (skiers left) and then met up with the bottom of the winter chute. Where you saw us ski into the trees was just the beginning of a 20 min ski down to the lower trailhead following the trail , and another 5 min ski down the road to where our car was parked. We had to park about a mile and a half below the lower trailhead. Hope this helped and let me know if you have any more questions!
@emptyplenty47304 жыл бұрын
@@pnwadventures2746 the winter chute is a little narrow. I thought that was how everyone went down though.

@pnwadventures27464 жыл бұрын
No, the snow was extremely deep that day so there was no need although if you are doing it in the spring or on a icy day I would definitely recommend them.
