Like that you are saving old iron. But the amount of effort you put in to get it running you could have rebuilt the carb and an auxiliary tank and had it running much faster
@erikg.26663 ай бұрын
Carb needs to be disassembled and cleaned. This is why it has difficulty idling down without the choke.

The orignel carburetor are much better than the aftermarket junk ones that people have had problems with them it would be better if you have to put a rebuilt kit in

You people give me the shits, you get an old tractor that's been sitting for years and bitch about spending money on it. If you are not prepared to spend a few dollars leave it in the bloody paddock.

We had an 8N growing up. Ours was a Funk conversion. They were kits by the Funk aircraft company, to power them up. I think they added about 50 horsepower, by changing to a flat 6. I would like to see an article or three on them.

Do the front leaf spring u bolts require lock washers, I noticed mine didn't have any on fronts just the rears had them.. thx

The front springs came with new u bolts with nylock nuts so I decided to just use them with no lock washers.

The clutch isn't releasing right anyway sometime is off with it and it spun the tire on the other side some but couldn't do much with it cause one of the tires wouldn't hold air long

And I would imagine American Tradesman is right about that Engine in that Truck it is most likely a 360 but they are good Engines though the GMC my Dad bought had a 350 in it with a GRANNY LOW 4 Speed Transmission in it I have great respect for those big block FORDS like that one
@aslamb6489 Жыл бұрын
Dude I'd let him have that ole heavy Box off of that Truck it will do so much better without it my Dad bought a 78 GMC 1 Ton Dually with a Box on it but I rest a sure you that it was not as heavy as that Box due to it being all Aluminum and it was not a REEFER and did not have that tool box or what ever that box is on the passenger's side of the Truck
@sullivansgarage1326 Жыл бұрын
Yeah I'm sure that box is weighing it down forsure you could tell it was heavy in the back and it will catch alot of air going down the road I bet.

Thank you for a great video! Since the gearbox is not synchronized it should be hard to get in and out of gears, specially if the wheels are turning. Maybe its not a problem? It takes a while to get used to and learn to drive. Ive learned to shift up while running on my old Nuffield but shifting down is super hard
@sullivansgarage1326 Жыл бұрын
Your welcome glad you enjoyed the video. I was able to eventually get it to go in thoes gears after I kept spraying lubricant down the shifter where it goes into the transmission. Something must of been rusted up from sitting.
