This is so timely! I've been trying to hold space for myself as a human and an artist, and there was this growing unease... With motherhood, my beliefs, mindsets, goals, and what I value have all been growing and coming into sharper focus, so I was finding it harder and harder to set specific goals. Artistically too there is this tension when you're trying out new mediums or trying to explore and access different ways of being creative -- the fresh explorations aren't necessarily coherent in skill level or vibe of your previous work, and there is this pressure to have goals and share constantly when you're the most excited about those explorations. It was soooooo validating to be encouraged to do things on your own schedule and timeframe. These periods of quiet reflection and connecting to your body and intuition is such a necessary part of living a fulfilled life! You need to inhale to exhale.

Thank you for this, Marc! I definitely want to do this list exercise. Seems very helpful, especially as someone who has difficulty finding my focus sometimes (ADHD, who?). 😅 I know in the past a big dream of mine was to run a gallery/artist collective (which I did for a bit, but I was far less experienced then) because it allowed me to fulfill my love of art but not feel the need to be the sole artist in my life (if that makes sense). I’d be interested to see what doing this list exercise will show me. 🖤

This is awesome Marc! If you don't mind, can I ask a couple questions? What brushes/brush settings are you using for the color? Are you drawing with a Wacom?

LOL..... Karl Marx is alive and well! Anti-Capitalists strike again! But then you see that the "money raised go towards a stipend for each artist". Do I detect PROFIT!? WHAT!? Say it aint so!! Greedy artists banding together to make a profit! What's next, you gonna form a company and go public and be listed on Wall Street for investors to buy stock? You might dare to use that money to grow your business and hire people with it! You then may take baths, wear a tie and work! Capitalist PIGS!

I don't know the first thing about what good Obama has done for our country. I don't know how he compares to Hillary or McCain (although I am a democrat), and I don't know enough about these things people are accusing him of to dispute them directly. But what I DO know is hypocracy, ignorance and bigotry when I see it, and as far as I can tell it is not Obama but his detractors that are guilty of this. A smear campaign against Obama doesn't help convince me that YOUR candidate is better.

Beautifully done video. Haters not welcome here - go live in your war-mongering, fear-based world of ignorance. We've got important issues to confront, most importantly fixing all the damage done by the Bush administration.

Can we surrender in Iraq? Can we blame America first? Can we have gummint control of peoples' pay? Can we have gummint take over health care? Can we waste billions of dollars on global warmism? Can we have a wife that hates America? Can we have a paster that God D@mns America? Can we snuggle up to terrorists and dictators? Can we throw Israel under the bus? Can we be buddies with domestic terrorists? Can we have respect for Calypso Louie Farrakhan? Yes we can.
