Thank you for offering this tutorial. When you painted the first gradated wash and transitioned from yellows to blues, why don't we see green in the transition area?

Even I never thought about it :) Maybe because the transition is sudden and I mixed color on paper instead of palette.

This was fascinating. We hear a lot about oil painting and artists, but the rich history of watercolour seems to have been lost. Thank you so much for highlighting this amazing medium. There were far more watercolour artists than I realised and this has been truly an eye-opener. Thankyou. In answer to your question, I am coming to the conclusion that paper is the most important.
