This is interesting, but let's not mistake this for Karate. This is a highly unusual form of slow motion exercise that Isaka Sensei developed for himself. He is not holding true to ANY Karate or Tai Chi concepts or joint alignments, and this clearly has absolutely nothing to do with combat. As a Professor of Sports Science and lifelong Karateka, I'm not saying this is good or bad. I am simply making an objective observation of what I see. From a purely scientific observational POV, I see this is a HIGHLY PERSONAL form of physical fitness that Isaka Sensei created for his own body.

I studied under mike when 10 years old in 1993 for 5 years frm 09_14years old. I enjoyed my studies and reached brown bet 2 stripes.I owe a lot of my mental discipline to his teaching.I have a son now with physical issues from CP and will be using shotokan karate as a theropy to improve his physical and mental state.

And such good control ..... if he'd wanted to he could kill you with just one technique but Sensei Enoeda was a gentleman except to people trying it on ... was funny watching em get their come uppence ...

I think this "kill with one technique" stuff is overplayed a lot, and I'm a Shotokan practitioner. Maybe "Hurt you badly" with one technique, but to state it would kill is just romanticising it.

He was 67 and already ill. Sadly I can't speak from personally training with him, but from the books I've read, Enoeda was as tough and skilful as they come. A 2nd Dan at Judo as well.

Who are you to judge. Are your minds so closed. Exactly what they shouldn't be. I bet some of you have actually said beginners mind once or twice. His method is his method. Don't like ok, but to criticize this Sensei, really. Maybe as he gets older he maybe injury free because of his internal kata. Just maybe he will avoid the hip replacement in your future from training Hard all your life.

Hey there, have you heard about MuscLeader" (search on Google)? On their website you can watch a useful free video featuring the right way to pack on noteworthy muscle mass very fast whilst eliminating fat at the same time. Chris or many other guys like him experienced good success using this approach. Perhaps it will work for you too.
