yeah you put too much food in there, it was able to eat some without getting to the kill zone. just place em by runways (by the walls)

Glue traps are insanely inhumane. And rats are extremely smart. They do not deserve to suffer. Grow up.

I use 2 mouse traps, the pedal style, around the glue trap. In its truggle with the glue, the mouse sets the pedal trap off, and secures its end

Along with screwing it down and putting it out in the open, you also, shouldn't have put bait in the trap. Food has oils in it that can degrade the trap's adhesive, making it less sticky. Next time, get one of those glue traps that have a sweet scent like peanut butter to it, then place along a wall or baseboard where you see the rat likes to run. Also, wedge it against the wall, etc. with something heavy enough so that the rat can't drag the trap along if it's only partially caught.

I feel like this would work better with sticky bait like Nutella

Those traps are meant to be placed along walls and not to be screwed down. Like other people have said, screwing it down gives the resistance the rat needs to pull itself off. You also don't need to put down bait, the smell of the adhesive itself attracts all sorts of things. I've caught plenty of mice with glue traps. In-fact I caught one last night in an area I didn't expect.

Great video, I have done this with 8- 2" screws drilled up from underneath, but mounting them on a scrap piece of plywood is a great idea, I have caught squirrels with mine.

Recommend the owltra brand electric zapper. Ive had horrible luck w glue traps. Ive had them chew body parts off trying to get away. Or they are not dead yet n just stuck there. Yeah the zapper is the way to go and its reusable
@samjam69893 ай бұрын
Useless because you nailed it down so they can remove their paws easily. Now if it was a paper glue that wasnt nailed down then they would not be able to release their one leg as it would be attached 😂

I hate these traps its really really cruel as they suffer for along time and cry for help. Its like us if we got cought up in a trap trying to get away its a long drawn out death. I dont like this at all. Not right . There are other ways which are quicker

Glue traps need to be in a room temp or hotter places to be effective. The glue solidifies in colder places and isn’t as sticky on the surface, feels more like a silicone jelly. I put my glue traps under my kitchen cubbies and was wondering why the glue traps weren’t catching any mice but the spring traps were, turns out the glue was to hard. Worked fine when I moved them back to room temperature places,

You're not using the trap correctly. Don't put food in it, just put it along the wall because they always cling to walls as they travel. He'll be ambling along and step right in it. With the phone there and everything set like on a stage, anyone - animal or beast - would be suspicious of that ostentatious setup. And it needs to be loose so they have no leverage to pull themselves out without sticking another body part in it... like the brere rabbit patch tar baby.

Attention that a stronger spring means more force to apply for trigger the trap. After literally a dozen attempts yesterday I've finally cought the rat but, there's ANOTHER ONE at least!! And he's smart as his friend.

I have had 100% success rate with the old style wood and metal spring loaded traps by Victor. I put things like PB or PB+honey etc they just can't say no!! I had a couple Hybrid Mice (half Rat half Mouse) they're really smart. They figured out how to trip the trap, eat the yummy bait and laugh at me. I kept nightly re loading that thing and let em play Russian roulette with it and sure enough their hybrid asses were history by the end of the week. Caught one entire Rat family in the space of a night using the same trap. I've thought about the Glue Board but rather the critter itself sentence itself than me (nibble nibble SNAP)
