Good boats those newbridge venturers

I know westerly manufactured more boats than almost any other company. But I’ve personally witnessed 3 sink in the past 5 years. Robust rigging and winches and body work. But the bilge keels models have a weak point on the keels. Stay well away from bilge keel westerly’s is my advice if you’re thinking of buying one.

I would use this crane company again, the driver was clueless and nearly flipped your boat. Wh6 don’t you guys invest in a travel lift, they are a great revenue earner for your club if you do other lift outs.

The Centaur! The boat of my youth. She was my parent's 1st sailboat and I learn to sail on her. The #1815. Then there was a Conway, a excellent boat too. What great memories I have with these Westerlies! Oh yes, the Centaur was not a racer, and wasn't inteded to be one for sure, but extremely well made, well thought and build like a tank.

Great video. One of the Class 769's (ex-Class 319's) would be right at home on this railway as they could use it in diesel mode. Hopefully 769008 will be preserved as it was 319008 that was formerly named as Cheriton that went through the Channel Tunnel in November 1993, so its got a unique history to that unit. Its currently stored at Long Marston for now.

Just to explain about Groombridge station at 10:44 , although the old station is original but due to new house's being built across the old track bed at the end of it , a new station had to be built on the opposite bridge of the bridge by the heritage railway and the new track diverted around the new housing.

Before Faversham box closed, there was talk that the panel was going to go to the National Museum at York, due to it's unusual method of displaying which way points were set. I know that didn't happen, but I never knew what became of it. I do now.

An unusual heritage line that scores full marks for eccentricity! There is a strange assortment of rolling stock that you don't often see on a preserved railway. I didn't know of the last class 365 in existence! Thanks for uploading.

Can you do a deck tour and explain how you run your running rigging? My Centaur was used for racing do it's got a bunch of extra cleats etc but I still can't figure out an uncluttered way to have the whisker pole rigged and main preventer on. Everything gets crammed onto the bow cleat. Thinking of putting a second bow cleat on.
