Hej Elena, mange tak! Wow Danish pronunciation never ceases to amaze me! Your awesome video goes some way toward explaining some of its mysteries very clearly indeed! Now what I need to understand is when to make glottal stops which I have noticed in a number of cases, e.g. before the n in the word "citron".

Thank you for your feedback. Glad to hear that some rules are clear, actually many of them work, though there are many exceptions. Good luck with learning Danish ;)

Well that still doesn't say when it's pronounced this way or that way specifically. Just that there are 2 ways without the r, and 2 ways before r, 2 ways after r.

Hej. Nå, Men hvornår kan vi sige, vi har closed og hvornår open syllable? Er det noget vi ikke kan sige medmindre vi lære hvad vi har udenom for hvert ord?

Honestly, this is actually really really USEFUL! Small side comment. Something relevant, maybe other people will use this method. I could appreciate using the phonetic sounds. When looking after the pronunciation in a dictionary, for example, the Ordnet, one will find the phonemes out.
@sokolovaDK

I know, I use Dania, which is a bit different from IPA or Ordnet system, so I know that can be confusing. If I made tutorials now, I would prefer a simplified IPA. You can also find inspiration at udtaleordbog.dk/ or look for correlation between Dania & IPA & Ordnet schwa.dk/lydskrift/utilpasset-ipa-konklusion/

интересно, как Ваше произношение изменилось спустя 9 лет. Лучше ли Вы стали различать подъём гласных. Интересно было подмечать нотки русского акцента. Про себя называю датский язык "французским" германских группы, за его самую на мой взгляд сложную и красивую фонетику европы.

Спасибо за интересный комментарий. Слышу по своим новым записям, что акцент стал меньше, лишние толчки ушли, например. Вы правы по поводу 'красивой' фонетики, ее надо смаковать ;).

I'm glad I found this channel. She has such a correct, smooth, fluent danish voice. There are other youtube videos with older people's voices and older people's voices sound a little raspier. Actually, Older people sound a little different in all sorts of ways. Don't get me wrong, it's great to listen to an older person's voice too, but I prefer a video made by a young person with a purer voice. I found it! This girl is awesome to listen to and learn from! Her voice is the closest anybody is going to get from a pure, clear, danish accent. Thank You, for this video and channel. I hope others find it useful as well:):):) 👍❤️❤️❤️

The rule about "ig" seems a bit too simple. The situations where it's pronounced as "i" is mostly the same was when you use "like" or "-ly" in english. ... So for instance, "rolig" in Danish ("calmly" in English) ... The word "lig" means "equal" in english and is pronounced "li" in Danish.... when something is equal to, like or "-ly" (an attribution of a property) the rule applies. However... the command "lig" (!) does pronounce the g. So does "Brig" (a type of ship) and "pig" ("spike" in english).
