HI Bhodie Bob,It Is A TERM in Bricklaying.It is Usually Made Off Concrete Block Or Brick Like In Video.Blocks Or Brick Stacked 1 on Top Off Each Other. It IS Set Plumb And Inline Off Wall You Are Going To Build.Then You Would Put A Line On To Face Off Dead Man,on Each End Off Wall And Lay Brickwork Between Them.The Dead Men Would Then Be Taken Down,Leaving You With A Plumb Wall To Face Off Wall And Plumb Ends.Hope That Helps. @@catbuilder5474 i have tried laying brick the way you were doing it and it was wavy and uneven to the point of ridiculous. I understand the theory, but the practice I can't do. As far as welding, I can fasten two pieces of steel together, but it looks terrible. Similar to bricklaying. Most of the work is done with amperage, voltage is usually 30 or below, so it doesn't really travel through your body, much. I have welded in the rain, which is not recommended. MIG is easier than stick, but machines for stick are cheaper and simpler. Also you can have a MIG bead that looks good but isn't really fastening, but that won't happen with stick.

also seeing is a problem for me. I am afraid of the light for one thing and for another the distance is between when i use my glasses and when i use no glasses so sometimes i wear my glasses and sometimes not and I don't know which is best. I was using number 13 dark but that is difficult but now i have enough courage to use the hood that is clear until you strike an arc and then it turns dark.
