To stop the press, it's important to have some wrist curl and set your forearm up as vertically as you can get it at the back of the pad. Your elbow can come forward a little bit to get that cup and verticality of forearm. In a King's Move sort of position, stopping the press actually becomes harder unless of course you have some sort of lock where your arm doesn't move any further.
