The lettering on the socks says "Japanese youth representatives" and the black board says "There's an exam tomorrow!! Study hard". Atarashii Gakko No Leaders (New School Leaders) were formed in 2015 by the Asobisytem agency. Mizyu (the one with two ponytails) had already worked with Asobisystem as a back up dancer to Kyary Pamyu Pamyu and she was joined by Rin, Kanon and Suzuka. Suzuka's extrovert personality and strong voice make her the obvious front person, but Mizyu is the oldest and in early press was sometimes described as the leader, but there's no official leader. They initially didn't have much success and were dropped by their record label, Victor, in 2020 which is when they were picked up by 88Rising. They gained an international following through KZbin and TikTok and broke out in Japan with the "head bobbing" dance of "Otona Blue". Outside Japan they now go by just Atarashii Gakko. They do all their own choreography and share the singing - with Suzuka usually taking the lead, Rin rapping and Mizyu and Kanon singing more melodic parts. They collaborate with producers on the songs and write a lot of the lyrics. These central artistic contributions set them apart from most J-pop groups. The dancing is a big element of their shows and AG! perform with a freedom, fun and ease seldom seen in other idol type groups. Their music ranges from hip-hop, Showa era pop to jazz and rock. Their motto is "with individuality and freedom I'm going to stick out" and they sing about some challenging themes and have appeared at Pride events. Their international profile as risen since 2020 and they were a big hit at Coachella 2024 and are now on a World tour. "Night before the Exam" is about the frustrations of learning archaic Japanese 4 syllable idioms. Suzuka chants a long list of idioms to the repetitive 4 beats of the music. Then AG! mime writing them on the blackboard and end up destroying the class room. This was filmed in one take so great work by AG! and their film crew. Next I suggest you watch their breakout song and performance of Otona Blue on The First Take. kzbin.info/www/bejne/b36xgadjr9GtY5o

AG! are kind of a genre unto themselves, and should you choose to venture forward, your life may be slightly altered - in the best way possible! Others sometimes comment with excellent background info to get you some of the more important basics, so I'll just give my quick synopsis and recommendations. Overall, the AG! (exclamation mark is part of the name) genres range far and wide, going back to their origin in 2015 when they were 14 years old (except Mizyu who was 17), with a lot of jazz/rock fusion in their first albums in 2017 and 2018. But things are quite different now, with lots of variety. These four women have amazing talent (both in live performances and recorded videos), distinct and addictive personalities, and are gushing with creativity. They also do all of their own choreography. I suggest you start with their breakout hit from 2023 (which actually came out in 2020), Otona Blue, but watch (maybe react to?) the version on the First Take channel with 67 million views first. Then Tokyo Calling official MV, then any of their dance practice videos (my personal favorites), and their most recent video from a couple days ago on their channel, a live performance of Change, the theme song they did for a new Japanese movie released yesterday. Then go back to their pre-2020 catalog for more surprises, especially Koi Geba. Oh, and you should check out their Seishun series of videos about Japanese culture (no music) for a lot fun and smiles. Most of their official videos are on their own channel, but some are released by 88Rising, their international label, and their oldest material is on Victor Entertainment. And if you do TT, there's a lot of craziness there, too. It's a pretty endless rabbit hole, so make sure you have a good shovel. Edit: Also highly recommend the Captain Disillusion video from 2022 where they did a really fun collab. That's how I discovered them, and why I spend more time than I should posting edited videos to the unofficial AG subreddit.

Great reaction. Atarashii gakko is a very versatile vocal and dance group that will surprise you. For maximum contrast, I recommend their latest video: “Fly High”. or one of my favorite songs: ”Hanako” Small criticism: Please watch the video to the end! It's not uncommon such a thing can ruin a reaction.

Welcome, Rebeka. You are embarking on (along with many others - over 200 million views just on their official YT channel, plus over 40 million reactor plays!) an awesome, progressive, hard-rock journey with 5 incredible women. Here's my intro blurb for those who may be new to Band-Maid: BAND-MAID’s songs and sound beat with the heart and soul of all rockers. But you’ll also hear heavy influences of Prog, Punk, Metal and Pop, with nice touches of Blues, Jazz, Funk and Grunge. Sometimes they use multiple genres within the same song. Their Composition, Execution, Joy of Playing, Consistency (130+ songs), Uniqueness, Charisma, Charm and, oh yeah, Cuteness factor, position them as becoming the hard rock Beatles of our time! In other words, they’re destined for mega-stardom. Each member's personalities are super interesting and their musicianship among the best. Their writing, arrangements and overall sound, especially guitar tones and drums, are kick-ass! Having seen them LIVE, I can honestly say their performance, sound, stage appearance, and band synergy is off-the-rails spectacular! Band-Maid is the only band in decades where I love nearly EVERY song they’ve done. I have over 70 favorites! "Thrill" (2014) is a great place to start: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i5XWaJppgpJnorM Their songs from albums Unleash, Unseen World, Conqueror, World Domination, Just Bring It, Brand New Maid, and New Beginning drive even more - Hate?, Shambles, Influencer, Warning, No God, Different, Black Hole, Rinne, Blooming, Moratorium, Domination, Clang, Dice, Spirit, Don’t You Tell Me, Turn Me On, Fate, Play, Hide-And-Seek, Secret My Lips, Puzzle, Choose Me, I Can’t Live Without You, and on and on. But don’t miss out on their powerful, beautifully written, mid-tempo songs like Daydreaming, Bestie, About Us, Memorable, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE, At The Drop Of A Hat, Mirage and Smile... or more punky like After Life, Don’t Let Me Down and Screaming… or funky like Bubble… or bluesy like Manners and The Dragon Cries… or poppy like Start Over… or a bit jazzy like Wonderland… or progressive like No God, Giovanni, and Black Hole… or cultural like the Band-Maiko series… or instrumentals like From Now On, Don’t Be Long, Onset, Without Holding Back and Going Nuts… or their many acoustic versions like Catharsis and Sayonakidori... and last but not least, their Anime hits (AniMaid) like Protect You, Sense, Different, Glory and Unleash!!!!! (from their own Anime MV (series?)): kzbin.info/www/bejne/bX2lkHiGiJlrfqc) And many songs are represented with over 50 well produced music videos. kzbin.info Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE audience & online OKYUJI concerts:  2023 Yokohama 10th Year Anniversary Concert “Endless Story” kzbin.info/www/bejne/kJKUqmCIh7uXbZI  ONLINE OKYU-JI (Feb. 11, 2021) “No God” kzbin.info/www/bejne/pHLHiKF_h896l80  Tokyo's LINE CUBE SHIBUYA (February 14, 2020) “Domination” kzbin.info/www/bejne/h5PcgnaAo5ulj8k  ZEPP 2018 “Real Existence” kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y6K0n35_gbdoq5I  Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 and other full concerts are on bandmaidprime.tokyo, bili, and official Band-Maid’s DVD/BD/CD. And some of the better quality fan videos are excellent. Here’s two of what it’s like to see Band-Maid LIVE at an intimate venue:  Shot by Pat McKee from their 2023 US tour concert in Detroit: kzbin.info/www/bejne/epjbhmCDi8-nl5I  See the Maids 2023 Rockville Festival’s short-set perfection performance: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJu9nIGbpKygnsU If you like Band-Maid, make sure to support them by purchasing some concert tickets, live streams, CD, DVD/BD & merch, etc. bandmaid.tokyo Like most Band-Maid songs, I like them from the get-go but really start to appreciate them after more hearings and seeing their LIVE videos. I'll go back and see an older song like YOLO, Order, Shake That, Freezer, Don’t Let Me Down, Before Yesterday, Real Existence, Non Fiction Days and Alone, etc. and realize there's no band that can consistently construct and play like Band-Maid. For fun, check out:  "Mega Band-Maid Mix" by DJ Ray of some of their earlier stuff: facebook.com/djrayboston/videos/1004709499579009  Band-Maid MIDI covers: www.youtube.com/@DeanF_MIDI  Reimagined compositions of Band-Maid songs: www.youtube.com/@fxdxmusic Band-Maid Members: Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “StarQueen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies. At 30 and the youngest, “Sensei” (Teacher) as band members call her, has the last word on many musical decisions. High-heels or sneakers, Sai-chan’s smile melts away her sometimes perceived, coldish persona. Saiki’s powerhouse performances, charisma, and voice focus the experience that’s driven her to the top echelon of hard rock frontwomen... or frontmen! Miku Kobato (Me-Ku) "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals, lyricist, 32 years old. “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR SpokesPigeon, po! Her “Magic Spell Time” charm and energy ignite the room. Kuruppo! No, no, no… KURUPPO!! Kanami Tono (Ka-Na-Me) “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, 32 years old, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want from Mincho is more! Akane Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums, 33 years old, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during performance!) while revolutionizing rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. This “DrumZilla” is the Party! MISA (Me-Sa) "Barefoot Assassin" - Bass, 31 years old. An alluring free spirit driving her 5-string to rapturous low-ends while pulling off surprising counter leads with Kanami, off-stage MISA is the band’s goofball ballerina. Sometimes seen as the Mysterious One because she lets her instrument do the talking, the Assassin literally kills it… every note... uniting Band-Maid’s world-class rhythm section. A slug of JB, a slight grin, and let the slappin’ begin… MISA! MISA! MISA! Maidiacs (Maid-e-acts) - Band-Maid’s crazed yet supportive, knowledgeable and loyal Super Fans. [BAND-MAID NEWS]  BAND-MAID PRIME - Special Video Distribution Website. Along with nearly 50 great play-through’s by each member, concerts and skits, Band-Maid management / label(s) have included the Acoustic Christmas 2021, ZEPP 2018 and Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 concerts! Fans can now see more than 50 great live performances with awesome audio, etc. like Fate, I Can't Live Without You and the great MISA / Kanami exchange in Don't You Tell Me. Those concerts are two of the best produced & performed concerts ever recorded, IMO. bandmaidprime.tokyo  The Maids SOLD OUT 2023 US & Mexico tour wrapped up and was a fantastic success. And so many great live fancams to watch! Their playing and antics were as fresh and fun to experience from first show to last. BRAVO Band-Maid!!!!! In addition, their Japan tour finished up with 13 concerts, AND they’re writing and recording for their new album. Their 10th Anniversary Tour concluded at Japan’s 17,000 seat Yokohama Arena on Nov. 26, 2023 and in Hong Kong Dec. 21! And their latest 10TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR SPIN OFF concert at KT ZEPP YOKOHAMA on February 22, 2024, where they played songs not performed at the 10th anniversary tour final at Yokohama Arena, was SOLD OUT, as usual!  📢 JUST ANNOUNCED 📢 -- The Warning, a world-famous band from Mexico, and BAND-MAID recently completed an amazing 2-man, collab concert in Japan. Wait for the official release of their new song, “Show Them”! -- BAND-MAID released a new song, "Bestie," co-written with Mike Einziger of INCUBUS! The MV dropped May 1st. And another new song, “Protect Me,” written for an AniMaid, dropped 07/07/24. Plus… their new album is nearly ready! -- BAND-MAID HALL TOUR 2024 -- June 28, 2024 (Fri) Nagoya City Public Hall, Aichi, Japan; July 5, 2024 (Fri) Osaka, Fenice Sakai Main Hall; July 14, 2024 (Sun) Kanagawa Kenmin Hall, Kanagawa. -- FESTIVALS - July 21,OSAKA GIGANTIC MUSIC FESTIVAL 2024; Aug 16 RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL 2024 in EZO; Aug 17 SUMMER SONIC 2024; Sept 8, 2024 TREASURE 05X Festival in Laguna Beach, Gamagori The Maids are one of the hardest working supergroups in the business! Nice reaction and this is just the beginning. These are five extremely talented ladies, composing and playing their own hard rock since 2016. They formed in 2013 and songs were initially written for them, then in 2016 they started writing all their own songs. The second vocalist/second guitarist, Miku, formed the band and all the original members are still in the band. Thanks for reacting to, what I consider, the best hard rock band in the world today.

If you like amazing instrumental play with great vocals and consistently brilliant songwriting, this is your band! Band-Maid's core is hard rock, but as you'll see, they branch out into many styles and genres, while never losing their identity. You're right about the lead vocalist, Saiki (rhymes with 'psyche'). Her vocals fit in a rich alto range, unlike a lot of female j- or k-pop/rock/metal vocalists. Her vibrato is also unique and beautiful (IMO), and she does indeed throw in the occasional gritty rasp when the moment calls for it. Other members: Kanami (kah-nah-mee), lead guitar & primary songwriter; Miku (mee-koo), rhythm guitarist, backup vocals & main lyricist; MISA (mee-sah), bassist; and Akane (ah-kah-nay), drums. You have wonderful journey ahead, Rebeka, and I've subscribed to be along for the ride!

Hi Rebeka! I've been a Delain fan for quite some time before they parted as well, and just like you, I am skeptical about the new lineup (even thou Diana objectively is an amazing singer), and never actually followed them since the old Delain went away. Yep, Timo, Otto, Charlotte (duh!), Joey -- it is the "classical" Delain lineup, and they are back! With a new star of course: with Sophia Vernikov on piano (you could see her in this MV as well). Charlotte will release hew new album The Obsession late September, and yes, The Exorcism is a track from that album as well (as is Chasing Sunsets), -- and -- you can watch a premiere of another song Dopamine featuring Simone Simons on YT on Jul 11th, tomorrow as I'm writing :) Looking forward to seeing new reactions! Oh, and you can join Charlotte's Patreon, it's absolutely lovely there, and you'll get to watch and listen all the premieres, and much more: Charlotte releases there one new song every month for four years already:)

Welcome back. This is a real fun song start to finish. It is a 50-50 collaboration although it is Electric Callboy's style - but that was what BABYMETAL were wanting when they asked EC if they would like to do a collaboration. BABYMETAL have featured artists (like F Hero in 'PA PA YA') and they have two or three collaborations, but of course they have a whole a whole load of their own songs. I understand you like power metal? Try 'Road of Resistance' live in Japan or 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' live at Sonisphere 2014.

Hi Rebecca, welcome back to the Foxhole, it's been a while.🦊🤘🔥 Glad you're back with this song and you're feeling well to resume your BM journey. This single reached Number 1 best selling single in the US Billboard rock/metal chart for the first time for both bands! If you see comments talking about how cool was one of the singers turning around at the end, that's a reference to a video reaction they did last week. But the one who really looks cool are oc the ladies striking a pose near the end which is also the pose they used when performing live right from the beginning.💃 Last weekend of May they played this song at FOX_FEST Festival in Japan along with Electric Callboy, everyone went bonkers with this awesome collab of the year and hit of this summer. They also released the official live if you don't wanna stop and keep pushing it to the limit. They also played together once again at Rock Im Park in Germany twice, one during EC show and the other one during BM show wearing cool new outfits. After that they played again at Rock Am Ring and we already got cool proshot clips. Last weekend they finished the Europe Tour and once again with both groups playing this song twice at Resurrection Fest in Spain making everyone going wild. Polyphia were also at FOX_FEST playing a set and the guitarists Tim Henson and Scott Le Page played together with BM the song Brand New Day, they're special guest in the album version, they were looking for this since a very long time ago and also fans waited for this. We already got an official live MV released recently if you wanna check that out. Next suggestion to enjoy an epic anthem from early era: - Road Of Resistance live in Japan official MV (2015). Hope to see you around with more BM songs. See you next time 🦊🤘🐭

This is what unconstrained genius looks and sounds like. Tuomas is a visionary and he does exactly what he pleases and goes wherever his muse takes him. It's on us to keep up and follow along. That he leaves many behind is no surprise. This... this composition is fucking epic. And it's as deep as the Marianas Trench and with more layers than a baklava. You can watch and listen to this 50 times and still be rewarded with new information, new insights. The owl - avatar of Athena, goddess of wisdom. Floors plunge and deep dive into a blank page of an edition of Darwin’s On the Origin of the Species. The cloud of butterflies represents the myriad of the smallest events upon which our existence turns (the butterfly effect). The butterfly was also regarded as an emblem of the soul by the ancient Greeks. Even the relentless pace of the beat symbolizing the inevitability of the passage of time, the densely layered chorus of our ancestors, the ghostly presentation of the band members. Troy's deeply emotional rendering of the last verse. The ghostly sighs of the chorus at the very end as we embrace the light in our final moments. Layers upon layers and multiple meanings, folks. Nightwish doesn’t make songs or albums - in recent years, they have published portfolios of art where the nature of our existence is the subject matter. This, it would seem, has been disappointing to a number of the members of the community. I’ve seen so many complaints about this masterpiece coming from people who have little to no understanding of what’s going on. If you’re here for Floor or the head bang, then you’re most likely going to be disappointed and you’ll find lesser amusements available to you elsewhere. Tuomas, Floor and Nightwish doesn’t need your approval. For some, this has moved past your understanding or inclination to understand. Tuomas is an erudite man with a deep love of this world and for this existence. He is a man hungry for comprehension, for understanding and for love. This existence is awesome if you would only take the time to grasp for understanding. The glittering beauty of mathematics, music as the voice of God, the natural world with its "endless forms most beautiful". It's all there for the beholding. But you have to reach out for it, grasp it, you must have a savage thirst for comprehension as the price of admission. This quote from Richard Dawkins from The Greatest Show on Earth is the perfect expression of what Tuomas is up to: “After sleeping through a hundred million centuries we have finally opened our eyes on a sumptuous planet, sparkling with color, bountiful with life. Within decades we must close our eyes again. Isn’t it a noble, an enlightened way of spending our brief time in the sun, to work at understanding the universe and how we have come to wake up in it?"
