I HAVE ALWAYS FOUND THE IDEA OF RACING TIRES BEING DESIGNED TO FAIL.... IS PREPOSTEROUS ....THE COMPLETE OPPOSITE OF WHAT RACING SHOULD BE .....WHY NOT HAVE ENGINES BEING FORCED TO LOSE POWER DURING A RACE.... IT MAKES AS MUCH SENSE AS TIRES FAILING !!!!!!!!

You talk about 2015 to 2017 when Honda powered McLaren you left out a key factor!!! Ron Dennis dictated to Honda the dimensions which were the root of Hondas / McLaren performance! Honda had informed Ron Dennis of this. And Hondas partnership with Red Bull proved beyond a doubt who was right. Honda…

I'm glad they are at least considering another supplier again. It should be about the grip, not exclusively about the longevity. Of course softer tyres will wear out faster, but not built in to disintegrate and force a team's hand. A worn tyre should only lose grip, not endanger drivers.

We all want to see Lotus back in F1 and Red Bull have now got two Teams which will be against the Rules from 2026 onward so should legally relinquish ownership back to an FIA holding until auctioned off. So Lotus, Porsche and Toyota are set head to head in a bid for either a new 12 team or Red Bulls second(rate) team.

I agree with Michelin and the drivers. I'd like to see more durable tyres that enable drivers to be on edge for the whole race. I remember the Bridgestone/Michelin years. Multiple suppliers wasn't a bad thing. It threw more variables into the racing.

Imagine, instead of having to race with two different tire compounds in 1 race, they have to use 1 Michelin set and 1 Pirelli set each Race.

If anything, F1 is a show. Where drivers deliver their best performance and dogfight each other at the razors edge between performance and losing control. Not because of chaotic pit stops because tires are built to last only 15 laps and nothing more. If anything, 2005 was a good embodiment of that show of driver performance.

The FIA can implement other rules to make strategy important. Remember the thime cars could refuel during the race. In other words the start weight of the car would be variabel. And with that corner speeds and acceleration. Of coarse they can maximize the fuel consumption (which does not block the introduction of refuelling) to force the developers to make their cars more efficient. (Changing downforce for less energy usage by reducing drag ) The FIA does not need that tyres degrade for spectacle.

Unfortunately Pirelli had to concede to the FIA request. I think lifting this requirement can bring back tire wars again. Although, with all this talk of 0 emissions and 0 carbon footprint, not too sure if we would ever get another tire war. That being said, I think if Bridgestone came back and took things over, we'd see some major progress in terms of performance..

Just stop with the 2 different tire demand, so teams can do soft, soft, or hard or whatever, it makes the race more unpredictable because now they know that after a medium it has to be a soft or a hard if it’s a 1 stopper. Then it will be possible to only use one set for the whole race.

Just because RB isn't breaking rules doesn't mean it's not bad for the sport. Personally I have never cared for it as I feel it's a conflict of interest and a passive midfield advantage for their A team. That being said I also dislike the amount of "sharing" teams are allowed to do such as Haas. Clearly the sport needs power train providers but I've always felt a team competing in the Constructor's should be constructing the vast majority of their cars and or getting bits from independent third parties rather than buying/renting the parts from competitors on the grid. The whole point of a constructor's championship is for the engineering marvels of the sport to grow through competition and stand out on their own stage, not to inspire sub par clones of each other. I'd rather see five teams with great construction pipelines over 10 teams that bring conflicts of interest or have half a hand in the design/construction of their cars.

Fuel limits will still force drivers to baby their cars even with good tires. Just means they can be a bit rougher in the corners or on defense.

I admit, I was initially skeptical when I first saw this video, but now that I'm revisiting it, a few things stand out to me. The McLaren and Honda of 2015 are not the same as they are now. Both have improved a lot since then and if this project does happen, I think I could be pretty good. Personally though, I'd like to see them go for Audi engines as a way of saying "this is what you can do for us as a thank you for us giving you Bortoleto."
