Amazing how they made conversion cylinders then, and Ruger will absolutely not sell me a 45acp cylinder for my 45LC.

One thing about this motor home. At 2:33 you can see a fold down counter top in the stairwell. If it is in the up position and to jump up into the motorhome when it is dark, your going to hit the corner on the bridge of your nose. Broke my nose. Other than that, best RV I ever owned as far as build quality. Loved to copper plumbing.

That's beautiful I wish I could afford one. Are they hard to maintain?
@krashsite2125 Жыл бұрын
Not at all. Just routine oiling and they'll run for years. Also good to routinely run the motor to keep the spring from sticking.

Only thing I would not due is start a diesel ambulance until it is purchased. Why? Cold starts are a big deal with diesel engines because they use glow plugs and not a spark plug. The only way you know if a diesel engine will fire up properly is a cold start. If it can't do that, good luck and you'll most likely have to swap them out along with it's relay (they sit just above the cylinders under the valve covers). This is an area for everyone one who wants to buy a diesel ambulance (or truck for that matter) to tell the seller. Good maintenance is fine, but parts do wear out. Glow plugs are no exception. This one had under 70K mileage, which is great but not even broken in. Diesels break in at about 150K miles and are meant to hit 500K or better (depending on their maintenance.) So hopefully when it sold the new owner got a great runner.

My mom & stepdad were RV dealers in the 70s. Though we had tons of motorhomes, a different one every weekend at times. The Sportscoach was my favorite. Lots of good times in this one. These were luxury class in their day. Well built with quality workmanship & materials (I learned to be an RV tech w/these. Super solid but The electrical system is a bit of a nightmare.)

Re blued? Case hardening? Mine is a 1901 and though worn the case hardening is still quite visible and the bolt on mine is still fire blued. Maybe they changed production in those two years. Yours looks sweet! I love mine. Purchased by my stepdad’s father from a hardware store!

I have several pre 64’s in .32 and 30-30 i shot a seal with the .32 special… it just flipped over and swam away grunting. I felt so bad i adopted a baby seal. Had to shoot it as it grew too big for above ground pool. My mother made meatballs and cutlets with it , kinda greasy but I pretended to like it
