This has to be one of my favorite Petty songs of all time, but I always wished they used something besides cheesy 80's keyboards for that opening. Well done. Cheers to that guitarist and a great cover of an artist that gets murdered by cover bands.

I'm still on the fence about if she should be singin that about another girl or possibly a boy?...lol...I couldn't care less about pronouns this is rock and roll. There are no pronouns in rock and roll. Consider "Stop Draggin My Heart Around" written by Petty and given to Stevie Nicks and gender adjusted. Love is a Long Road sounds more like something a guy would do to a girl. I still love the band though. I think they could go places with some original material. Just a "nobody's" humble opinion.

Great band. Nice vocals! The use of guitar as a replacement for the keyboard works for the intro and keys parts. But the guitar chords need to be played on an overdriven guitar, and it is quite simple in the standard position to get the exact sound of the original. Tom Petty's music will continue to be covered for years....even Mike Campbell is covering it all with his band, "The Dirty Knobs."
