Are you driving a diesel rig with glow plugs? I know when those cycle when starting, they cause low voltage issues and will freak the brain out. I actually wired the input power to the brain on a switch that I don't turn on until after the glow plugs have completed cycling. Other thing to check is to make sure your speed sensor is connected as it must see a specific speed to engage/disengage automatically.

So exactly how does the autodrive work? Does the gear vendors shift on its own in that mode?
@chevymike19683 жыл бұрын
There is a control box and a speed sensor. In Auto mode, around 40 mph the overdrive will engage automatically. When you slow to below 20 mph, it will disengage. You can manually disengage in auto mode with the floor switch. In manual mode, the overdrive will not engage unless you manually select with the floor switch, as long as you are above 20 mph. Hope that helps.

I have a 1986 cucv as well and I would love to get the gauge setup you have. As well as a gear vendor. I have an option to buy a used vender. I’m just not sure how well they work. Could you give me any pointers where to shop.
@chevymike19684 жыл бұрын
Thanks. The individual gauges were custom built by Speedhut Gauges, to my design. I then custom modified the factory bezel to fit them. As for a used Gear Vendor OD, you need to find out what series it is. I think early ones were J series and later ones were P series. Don't waste your money on an early one as there are no parts available for them and GV doesn't support them. For it to work automatically, you must have all of the wiring and control box for it. Check out Gear Vendors website for more info.

Brian how does it works? Do you just put that on drive and set the gearvendor on automatic and it shift all the 6 gears automatically if you have a th400. I’m curious I have a 77 el Camino column shifter that is my concern. Thanks.

How did u lower it and what u running? Just spring change?
@chevymike19684 жыл бұрын
I used 1" lowered front springs with 2" dropped spindles. Rear was 3" dropped springs which netted 4" total drop, since the panel is heavier then a truck.
