I know this video is almost 10 yrs old… but in our church we have a Yamaha psr463 conected to a Roland KC 600 speaker and I don’t like the sound at all. Is there a way to fix the sound with the keyboard and speaker?
@ourworshipsound6462Күн бұрын
Unfortunately, that keyboard is at a price level that is not going to produce very good sounds.

Thanks for this. Just wondering - in a live / stage situation what’s your signal chain from MIDI keyboard to FOH.
@OurWorshipSound16 күн бұрын
Pretty simple these days - MOTU M4 MIDI/audio interface -> DI boxes -> FOH
@accentontheoff16 күн бұрын
@@OurWorshipSound Thanks for the reply. Since I am new to this. So the MOTU line out (stereo or mono) goes to a DI box from where it goes to the mixer? And the engineer at the location gives you a mix of your preference on your headphones - correct?
@OurWorshipSound15 күн бұрын
@@accentontheoff L/R lines out of the MOTU to two mono DI boxes, outputs of those to the mixer. We have a Behringer X-Air based system with personal mixers - I plug my earphones in there.

Hi! Very quick question: I am trying to remix a song with female vocals which is in e minor. What I want to do is keep the key of the song (and obv the female vocals) as is - in e minor - but I want to use the female acapella and at certain parts of the vocals change (lower) their key to make them sound like they're male vocals. So as to end up making a "duet" off a man and a woman :P My question is what key "goes" with this e minor song for the "male" vocals; so that I know what key/s I can shift the female vocals to add the parts of the song that I want? I assume that this must be possible as there are countless songs with man/woman duets that is obv one key, but that doesn't mean that the male tries to make his voice sound... female lol (and the male vs female vocals are obv sang in different keys since a man has a "deeper" voice than a woman- right?) THANKS!!
@OurWorshipSound2 ай бұрын
If I'm understanding what you're trying to do, you'll need a vocal tuning software or plugin, something like Melodyne or Autotune. Some notes will need to shift more or less than others to get the harmony sounding right. Good luck

@@OurWorshipSound Oh wait, what I did was use Serato Studio to create/separate the stems from the original E Minor track (vocals / melody / bass / drums), and each audio stem, separately, is in E Minor too (obv). In Serato Studio I can change the audio parts' key to whatever I want. So I was thinking that I could shift the key of some of the vocals (the rest would remain in e minor) to another, lower, key to create the "male-sounding" voice I am taking about; so that the (untouched) female, and (key-shifted) "male" voice would sound "correct" together in this e minor track. Wouldn't this key changing be enough for what I need? If yes, then what I need to know is what (lower) key/s I can shift the parts of the e minor female voice that I want to change so that they would sound right in this e minor track to. There is a "table", I think, that says that, say "e major 'goes' with g minor" or whatever. Isn't there? Is that how I should do it? If yes, where can I find this table?

Oh man I know that kind of player and they are a nightmare in a worship band setting. They may be focused, highly skilled, and able to play better than me 100 tines over. And yet, leaving space for the emotion and the sound that occurs between sounds, is so powerful. Is it possible for you to encourage him to simply his playing because it clashes with the other instruments? Its hard to learn to play subdued and yet thats where the emotion is. Every player takes their turn for their riffs and moments that are built not to clash. I have seen this so often however letting them know you can see how gifted they are with their playing skills, but that with worship, less is more? Are they the type pf person who could accept this type of constructive criticism? Or aks them to honor the song my playing it the way it is written? Just some ways i have had to approach musicians in the past that have worked.

Merci beaucoup. I only started piano at 65 yoa and noodled around with you tube videos and was lost. I started following the Rule of the Octave and learning keyboard technique with cadences, and I'm concentrating on those for now. But your teaching is strikingly similar to the methods of CPE Bach. I quit worrying about seventh chords and want to master triads for now. And my teacher is happy with the progress. Were you trained as an organist?
