Yep, somebody on X posted the helipad address in Tokyo, I think another band has also used that location. Ale is about a decade younger. Band-Maid has done 2 concerts in Mexico, they would love to go back. Band-Maid was at Pointfest in St. Louis in 2023 where they met Mike Einziger lead guitarist of Incubus which led to their other collab "Bestie" co-written with MIke ("Mikey-chan"). Band-Maid opened for Incubus at the Tokyo Incubus concert and Mike came out and played Bestie with Kanami.

Nice reaction. I guarantee you most of us non or hobby musicians could pick all these details out. There is a lot going on for a three minute song. I’d like a little more lingering on the instrumental action. Another reactor pointed out how easily this could turn into an 8 to 10 minute song. Not good for radio play but us nerds would be digging every second of it. Naturally. 😅 Coming from the Warning camp I’d like to see a little more of them, but this is a fantastic collaboration and I am pretty sure we’ll see more of this to come. They’ve dropped little hints that this may not be the last we’ll see them together. Thanks again.

You can record 5 versions of the song and they would all work. Once like this one, then one each of Band Maid and The Warning. TW version would be almost like this one. From BM it would be with solos. Then one each with Danny or Seiki as guest vocalist

That was the first thing I thought when I heard the end of this exceptional collaboration between two amazing bands. Great breakdown of the lighting, camera work, and music.

So I would suguest you do it backward than what you did. watch the music video. Then on the second pass pause and explane the camera work and other things. You also you might notice more things on you second pass. Just my two cents.

8 top tier rock musicians in one space with their instruments, it should have been chaos, but Dani has said she was pleasantly surprised how much Kanami was involved in everything from composing, audio engineering, arranging and playing, she knows how to do it all. I believe her, Kanamis' fingerprints are all over this, she was basically a co-producer on this track

There are lots of KZbin reactors who react to Band-Maid and I enjoy them, but I have not seen anybody who reacts with a producers viewpoint like you did. It is very instructive and gives me a new perspective. Thank you for the good job and I will check your other works.

SOP for Band Maid is Kanami writes the music, sends out a demo to the band, asking for feedback. Miku listens to the music, including the vocal melody line, and comes up with lyrics. Kanami incorporates changes as the flow of ideas goes on. Eventually Saiki has final say on when the song is good enough. In this song, Kanami was firm on the singers using this higher key than they usually do. There was a fall back plan of a lower key if needed. Both singers took up the challenge and powered thru.

FYI, if you know any Spanish or Italian, even if it's just food names or something, the vowels in romanized Japanese are basically the same. So you can take like the A at the end of pizza, and the E's in penne, and apply those to Akane, and Saiki's names. The combined "ai" just sounds like those vowels in sequence, and ends up sounding like "eye".

Kanami and Dany did an interview on the PRS channel. They both play similar guitars in the same color. They said that there are additional collabs in their future. Dany wants BM to come to Mexico to do a song in Spanish.

R rating on the VHS tape may have a couple meanings. The VHS format also goes back with them as when they were very young they would make popcorn and watch concert videos with their parents.

Great reaction and good info. Also, there's a short "behind the scenes" of this video where the furry monster was in a chair and got a close up hit with the tape and then the chair tipped backwards to the floor. Good thing he had lots of padding!

From what I understand, no instruments were harmed in the making of this video. 😂 Ale's bass tech took all the bolts and screws out and just fitted it back together for the shot so it would crumble, then reassembled it. ETA: That's Ale's actual 3/4 scale Mustang bass from when she was a kid.

Just a suggestion: KZbin's '4K' performance is abysmal at best, even with a fast connection and a good computer. That was definitely a glitch where you paused and ran back a couple times where Pau froze in mid-beat. Usually, you can get better performance and good resolution at 1440 or even 1080p., and makes for a bit more compact video in the end. This is my favorite music vid of their's yet! So many Easter eggs, and little reference thrown in, some that only long time followers will catch!😉👍👍

The freezing and frame skipping is not on the original. It's your Internet unable to handle enough read-ahead speed to keep up. It's common with KZbin reactors. Various resolution reduction strategies can work... GREAT insights into the production! If you haven't seen *21st Century Blood,* their first music video from their 2017 first album, it's worth a look. It won some awards.

I love the deep breakdowns! One of the reasons I absolutely love them is they aren't playing complicated stuff, but the composition of the uncomplicated stuff is so flipping complex. It's a thing of beauty. I can take four or five chords and wreck your day. Great reaction!
