Heading for this post in my most eloquent "French" ;) : "C'est une blague???" "Are you 'F'ing Shitting me?????? I decided to approach Home Depot (Cornwall Canada) to get a quote on purchasing a 6ft. wide sliding patio door with built in mini blinds ($1200) plus $100 delivery + taxes. (Not cheap that's for sure! (patio door without built in mini blinds runs around $600) however that's NOT the outrageous part!) ... I asked them (Home Depot) to quote me on the install and this is what I got from one of their sub contractors: - $4890 WTF??? ARE YOU 'F'ing shitting me????? That is OUTRAGEOUS! Are they smoking crack or taking LSD or something? (being very polite here!) that works out at $230 per HOUR for labour for 2 guys working 8 hours. (It shouldn't take 2 guys that long anyway!) WTF??? Something smells fishy here! The original quote I got from Clara windows which was $2800 all inclusive which I thought was a little on the high side and really wanted to bring that cost down by at least 25%. I really didn't expect the cost to DOUBLE going through Home Depot. I'm SHOCKED! Go figure! Ugh!!! 😱 You can be rest assured I'm going to take this up with Home Depot customer service and bring this clearly outrageous quote to their attention! You can be rest assured I definitely won't be using OR recommending Home Depot for ANY installation services ever!!!! (In fact I won't be using Home Depot for any building supplies from now on. I'm now DONE with them!) I called customer service opened a complaint # 54885535 (not that I expect anything will be done about it!. - go figure!) I also spoke with the sub contractor directly and they said that's their quote & price and tried to spin me a long story to justify their OUTRAGEOUS quote which fell on deaf ears!. Seriously? ... I didn't fall off the turnip truck and I'm no crack smoking idiot! ! Installation shouldn't cost more than a thousand $ at most! Ugh!!!
