I miss watched sketches like this. They were like an SNL for kids.

The part where the train came through the tunnel right at me terrified me as a kid. I thought the train was going to crash right through the TV screen and into my living room!

Soooooo.....why DID this scare me when I was a kid?
@Sarah-zr1nj Жыл бұрын
I don’t remember this - maybe they removed it from the episodes before I started watching Sesame Street in the mid 80s. My personal hide-behind-the-couch short was the I-Beam, but I can kind of see why this would scare a generation of kids. (Kid logic is probably like - “well, if the train can come out of a painting they put up, that means it’s going to come out of the tv and hit me”).

When the approaching train blocked the daylight at the end of the tunnel, that's when we knew we were in trouble! My brother and I would throw papers, napkins, and clothes in the air as the train sped through the TV screen! I was never scared of this as a kid as others were. Maybe because even as a kid, I always loved trains!
