I installed mine and I have a question. It will display 2500 lbs. for several hours, up to 8 before I went to bed. The next afternoon, it was showing 3700 lbs. I reconnected two more times, and again, displays 2500 lbs. for several hours before it begins to go up in poundage. I'll be calling tomorrow to see if this is normal, thought I'd ask here in case others are experiencing the same issue.

I had a big gmc with about a 20 foot enclosed trailer go by me at about 90 when this exact thing happened, he got out of it without rolling or jack knifing, but I've never seen a trailer go that wild and stay upright. Bet he needed an underwear change after that dance.

I just ordered mine. Do you leave the hitch in full time or just get the weight, then remove it and install a normal gooseneck ball? Seems like the constant bouncing of the hitch on this ball would break something internal on the Weigh Safe ball.

I never gave towing much thought because my boat trailers were already set up for it. When i got an enclosed trailer and loaded it with motocycles BEHIND the axle, these exact oscillations began and so did my search to find out why. Thanks for the quick demonstration!

It's not the "tongue weight" per se that makes the difference, it's the center of mass of trailer+load vs pivot point (center of wheel to road contact). But it's connected to the tongue weight as a consequence, so it's not wrong, just a bit confusing. People might think weighing down the hitch or the towing vehicle being the key. It's not.

I can't tell you how many times I've been told I'm spreading misinformation and putting people's lives at risk when I try to explain to people that WDHs DO NOT CONTROL SWAY THROUGH FRICTION.

I’ve been in a vehicle (Chevy El Camino) with too much tongue weight. Pretty much like the demo except on a steep downhill the front tires got light and the driver showed me he could turn the wheel and not much happened. I’m very happy it was a straight down hill road. I’d never seen the driver (my father) scared in a car, he had driven about everything short of a tank at that point and was pretty hard to upset. We had no trouble rearranging the load afterwards, that kind of fear is very motivating. Be smart, get your loading right before your experience this particular thrill.

I paid $800 for two hitches and expected to last lifetime. Both of them gauge got bad and showing nonsense. Its you a manufacturer should replace to customers for free ands its you who suppose to repair NOT A CUSTOMER.
