My last trip to Iceland was to ride the Rift bike race in the Hekla/Fremri-Vatnafjöll region north of þorsmörk (I have never been so beautifully beaten down by geology before :-) ). May have to plan a future trip to coincide with this run. That course looked wonderful.

Im heading to iceland at the end of october. It appears to be a difficult language, but then the more i travel, i see how difficult english is to learn with all of our weird rules that sometimes apply between 37-83% of the time 😂😂 Thanks for the crash course!

This was fun viewing. What beautiful scenery! It looks so different from the fun runs I've encountered - all have been on flat surfaces. I suppose one much watch carefully so as not to twist an ankle. !

When God was creating Iceland, he was in a particularly generous mood. And, he knew he'd given it to just the right people when he gave it to the Icelanders. Hardy people who take advantage of every inch of their homeland! Stunning and slightly scary video for me. Your videos are always so well-edited. Ívar for President. Next time.

Congratulations on completing the run! I'll borrow someone's comment from another video and just say: "Is it possible to feel homesick for a place you've only visited once?"

At my age this would be a NO. Nice to have you do the run for me. I enjoyed the scenery you have shown us and how beautiful it is from the top. Thank you.

I want to do that!!! It gives a reason to want to do something like that, my daughter is fighting me cause I make her train with me without a good reason. We jog in a parking lot mostly. And a surprising number of trees, someone told me there were no trees in Iceland! Lies, misinformation, clearly.

Seeing this trail without all of the snow cover really emphasizes how steep it really is. I can't believe you even attempted this in winter...haha. I could never be so brave. Honestly though, Id probably be afraid to hike that in the summer too.

Like that chandelier over your shoulder. Do any outlets in Iceland have USB built into them or USB-C and then you would not need a convertor or a charger?
@ivargu

That would be a very basic IKEA-model that you will find all over Icelandic homes ;). I haven't seen a lot of those USB-ports on them outside of hotels - which have them sometimes - but I would assume they will start appearing with USB-C becoming ubiquitous.

In Kerala (An indian state) we use father's name as second name , but unlike iceland we dont use 'son' or 'daughter'. My name is Binil. My father's name is Issac . So my full name is Binil Issac

Your seasons and the idea of having the weather from each happening in the same day are very similar to Scotland: very short summers and long winters.

I’m in the United States and I do have a really good water filter pitcher but I love the taste of Icelandic water and if I’m traveling, I definitely buy it in glass. I know it’s probably overpriced, but my pallet is very very prone to taste. I don’t smoke. I don’t drink coffee so I have a very, clean pallet other words it’s not destroyed by cigarettes or coffee, etc. so I can taste anything and I can tell you Icelandic water is the best water I’ve ever tasted. It’s so clean and so crisp probably overpriced but I do feel I’m getting clean water when I buy it.

Having been to Iceland now for all seasons (ish), I agree with everything you described. Love Icewear, too. I have that same sweater but in yellow! But my main reason for going to Icewear is to see if Baktus, the cat, is there. But I agree the price is reasonable and they have a good selection. I do have two handmade lopapeysas, which I love, but they are really way too thick for any time but during winter, in my opinion. Thanks for another great video! Oh, and Icewear needs to sponsor you after all that free advertising!
