I seen the 4 button remotes are able to program to different receivers but I also had trouble with that because they are manufactured in China...

No the frequency is 433mhz

It is a wifi internet method that can open the door from anywhere in the world, as for the kit it only comes with 1 receiver but if you need a second receiver you can purchase here: www.vipergatesystems.com/en/home/1517-plug-in-receiver.html

Do you have a method to determine if the door is open or closed prior to pressing the button on the app? I want to know if I forgot to close my garage door. This would be perfect to solve that problem.

Yes it does, It is a wifi internet design which means exactly that, open and close from anywhere in the world. We are working to provide the monitoring which will let you know when the gate or garage is open or close. We should have that option available by the end of March
