Most people think that being a Beatle was a wonderful and pleasurable dream in these men's lives. But when you watch Get Back you realize how difficult and painful it could be. It was an emotional rollercoaster. In the months, perhaps the first few years after the breakup, these men seemed extremely hurt.

"The final bullet". Very sad to think that this is how John perished only 11 years later. Destroyed the possibility of a true Beatles reunion. But we'll always have the music and the videos...

When we are all very young and don't understand what makes us who we all are and if we grow up emotional like this we might not get through it. But I know we are all old enough to understand how important the Beatles were and if the last 2 remaining Beatles die in the future we know it will be a sad loss but people die every couple of years and you just have to live with it and keep remembering them and if we all have people we love sadly passes you have to understand that is how the world works and we all get old but remember to chase your dreams and stay true to yourself and be yourself because that will at least make your ancestors proud and happy that you are living your best and only life.

I think that this documentary canonised Paul McCartney. His vocal ability just seems infinite here. Yes he's bossy and demanding. Yes he is very clearly aware that he is a talented. beautiful, beloved man. But how could he not be full of himself? I lived through all of this, and I have seen many brilliant people come and go since. But nothing has come close.
@kevinmcinerney1959Ай бұрын
Paul McCartney - it all just doesn't make sense. Nobody trained him to play piano. He just sort of picked it up. He didn't have a thought about despair and disappointment that he wanted to express with Long and Winding Road. He's just kicking around ideas here with Mal. And yet the finished song conveys such a sense of lonely despair and weariness. It frays your soul. How does that happen?

This album was Paul’s magnus opus. John led the pack but at this point he was increasingly less interested and wrapped up with Yoko, so Paul wrangled all of them together, shouldered the group on his back, powered them through recording this album, and reminded everyone the Beatles are still the number one band in the world.
