The "best damned gold pan" (stupid name) almost certainly works better. The physics are superior. Square and verticle sides are just better at maintining a slury. The author of AMERICAN MOON, mister M.Mazzucco was a professional photographer before making that famous documentary. They (FAKEbusters) think they demonstrated the conspiracy theory false, but they actually proved it TRUE. The white tshirt if put to real life scale wound not only be as big as a real photographic reflective surface, but it would be giant compared to the lander and astronauts... aka more than capable of illuminating the astronaut in the shadow. No, the white shirt guy standing there is NOT equivalent to the astronaut taking the photo on the moon, because the scale/proportionality is off. Meaning that, to have an equivalent of the astronaut surface on the FAKE set you would need to put like a few cm of white surface, not 50cmx50 which is the surface of the bust/chest/upper body of the guy with the white tshirt. On the other hand, if you scale the surface of the white shirt to irl supposed moon landing site, it would be 3-4 times bigger than the moon lander... meaning a big reflective surface... or another weaker light source.
