You can tell that the guard reluctantly took away Doc’s incredible artwork and painting supplies. The warden who ordered the confiscation of Doc’s paintings was very stone cold and arrogant. Divinely speaking, the escape of Frank and the Anglin brothers was allowed to happen as a way of teaching the warden a lesson that being stone cold and arrogant has consequences. The warden’s ego was seriously checked at the end of the movie. He couldn’t even believe the daring escape and kept concluding that they drowned when he knew nothing just yet.

So realistic this scene was. I would love to know how this was filmed with the floor tilting and everything falling and crashing as the people were falling and being thrown across the floor. incredible special effects especially in this scene with the ship capsizing as water comes crashing through the windows. How did the actors ever get through the filming of this scene?

The cast of this film consisted of legendary actors who knew how to ACT! Chamberlain, Flannery, Dunaway, Newman, Holden, Vaughn, McQueen.....

Today's actors don't have the skill or charisma of legends like Dunaway, Holden, Newman, McQueen, etc. (Can you imagine a remake of this film starring the likes of Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey and Britney Spears? I can't!)

I wish with all my heart such a scene could be applied to thor but alas its too late. These days the talent just isn't there. I'm no director but a similar scene with thor finally deemed worthy by his father wields the hammer amidst the tumult of a tropical storm. I sort of see the imagery in my mind but I'm no director.

As a piece of art this scene alone lasting a mere 5 mins is a masterpiece. The music , the rain, the thunder. Absolutely amazing.

It completely wipes the floor with modern marvel movies as a piece of cinema. I think it will always unnerve people and that's what makes it timeless and contemporary forever

When I’ve watched this movie over 40 years ago, the last time Bubba was alive is when he said these words, Bubba didn’t do this and that’s when all for the men started firing their weapons upon him, killing him instantly and then seconds later a call comes over the radioand this is when told the people that the little girl was listed in critical condition at a hospital, and Bubba was held as a hero for saving her from a vicious dog attack.
