I downloaded the latest version 3.0.21 of VLC and updated the youtube.luac from the above link and the payback did not work. Is there a newer luac version for VLC?

Thanks for a great tutorial that included the steps that the AI was leaving out when I googled how to do this. The problem I'm having is that the new file is audio only. But if I don't Reset Preferences, it still has all of the changes. Any idea where I may have erred? Thanks!

what format was the video you started with?

@@SuperPertinax According to the Current Media Information on VLC, it's MPEG-H Part2/HEVC (H.265) (hev1) and a bunch of other stuff. 1920x1080 at 29.989 fps. It's a video from my wife's Pixel phone that was played and clipped via selective VLC recording.

You can rip a DVD and convert it easily to an MP4 using KZbin downloader absolutely free just did it

nope! 8/2024. Did as suggested (both ways for .luac) AND @Peter...'s Comment (below). STILL no video, but instead "Your input can't be opened:...." nutz, man. I'll just download the vidz, and THEN use VLC. grrrr... woulda been nice 🙂

I love everything about his video except for one thing. Replacing the .youtube.luac file in the VLC directory D:\MEDIA Player VLC\VLC\lua\playlist has not allowed me to stream KZbin.🙄🙄😥😥

@@SuperPertinax Yes, I uninstalled and reinstalled even though the programs updater said I had the current version. No change. I have not been able to fix this issue for some months now. *sigh* - every few weeks I get inspired and have another go. Maybe I need another way to view offline some choice KZbin documentary videos. Thanks for your suggestion though 😊😊
