Those cows became dinner...wasn't funny ! Even if I were still eating meat .So sad & cray cray ! I do not wanna see anything getting killed or hear 'em screaming !! Imagine the hygiene issues ,too ! And you ladies thought that was funny !?? 😰 I am planning to cruise on this ship in the very near future with my mom & glad that we're living in a different era ! Lol I know it gets rocky ,so that's my concern 😟 I am looking forward for the champagne bar ( I do not drink really,but love champagne ,especially Laurent perier & Veuve ,Piper Heidseick champagne. And off course,the afternoon tea !! As well as the planetarium there!! 💜🥁🐉🎤🎶🚢🛳💕💞

Hi, do they mention slavery??? I think that’s a very important part of our history. I want my children to understand what happened. Thank you ladies for the video. Hope I can make one of these trips. Respect from North Carolina.

Absolutely. These tours include history of all the peoples of these important periods including slavery. As you say, it is oh so important for next generations to visit these key sites and learn form history.

How about a visit to the house in the Lower Ninth where Fats Domino lived. Then a side trip to Lafayette for some Cajun & Zydeco music. Buckwheat Zydeco who can be found on the sound track of the 1986 movie Big Easy with Dennis Quaid, Ellen Barkin lived on a farm in Lafayette & a collection of old cars.

I visited the National Civil Rights Museum about 20 years ago (not long after it opened). It was truly an emotional experience. They had an official Klan Bible - what a sacrilege! They projected a film of the Children's Crusade in Birmingham's Kelly Ingram Park with the dogs & fire hoses. I stood on the balcony where MLK was shot. I left the museum weeping. It still makes me cry.

You are lovely! I have done Patagonia with National Geographic and Lindblad. I will probably now do the Anartic trip with them after watching this. They are very well organized and the education provided is unsurpassed.

Question: I will taking this same expedition soon. How was the sizing of those parkas? I know the paperwork gives a parka size with respect to a body measurement (chest inches), but would hate to be wearing something too small or too large, when you really can't factor in sleeve length. Can't wait.

Hi there! We provided our a measurements prior to the cruise, and we were both given a size: MEDIUM. We had plenty of extra room, so they clearly account for the many additional layers you will be having underneath. So you can feel confident that they will provide you a convenient size for your needs.

I had been a gold member with my late husband on Seaborne. As lovely as these videos appear, the cruise director makes little effort in doing anything realistic to make the cruise more enjoyable. Excursions used to be a very big problem. They were limited in ridiculously low numbers. I just saw the prices on the upcoming cruises , and $45,000 a person is a lot of money. I much rather take other types of vacations where u aren’t stuck onboard if a port won’t let you off or if a port won’t accept you. This ship is getting a lot of attention, but most of your time will be spent onboard, boredom leads to eating & weight gain, and everything you would normally opt for onland is 3-4 times the regular price.

I think it is best to view this as an "expedition" and NOT a cruise. More of an educational experience with no guarantees of those things you find and expect to have on a cruise.

It's all about the type of experience you are looking for! So many wonderful places to travel, so it is to each's own. :) Also, on an expedition, the captain navigates to the areas where you will surely be able to get out and explore. Except for those first and last legs of the trip, the middle is full of exploration every day... not sitting on the ship.

Thanks AG. So glad you found this video helpful. Our journey with Lindblad was in December 2021. The best time to go is in the summer period from November to March. Around January, the weather will be warmest and days longest.

The ship is getting old and boring for all 3 ships. Just came back from 16 days Cunard. It degraded a lot. food quality and quantity BAD, no lobster. especially at the Lido. Super short handed. It is at the Carnival cruise style. No dance host, no queens room Hostess, no sequence dance, no professional dancer exhibition, 8 kids running around in the dance floor while dancing, etc. will not recommend for this price (we are Diamond on Cunard, not a newbie)

We were on the voyage travelling eastbound home to London. Excellent crossing and impeccable service as always. We enjoy a Princess Grill Suite when we cruise with Cunard and highly recommend trying the transatlantic crossing at least once. This year on Queen Victoria scenic cruising The Sound of Mull then later in the year Queen Mary in pursuit of the Northern Lights if we’re lucky enough to see them we’ll be thrilled but if not just enjoy the luxury of our favourite ship!

American cruise lines condones open racism onboard these Mississippi cruises. Racial slurs are used by management, the n word and ‘spic’ are commonly dropped by guests. Guests send back food and drinks if delivered by a person of color. Management often joggles employees quitting on the spot, and leaving at ports that service, cleanliness, and quality suffers. Glowing reviews are required to be posted by new employees before stepping foot on the ships for their first day. This company has gone to shit, and the toxic leadership, management and culture will see to it this industry will not survive.

I really wanted to hear about the actual cruise experience. The ports are places I can research on my own. I don’t know anyone that has been on one of these boats and this video told me nothing about how I would actually spend my time ON the boat.

Thanks Shari for the feedback. We have many clients that were curious about the specific ports for this itinerary, so we focused on that for this particular video. We'll talk to American Cruise Lines to see if we can put something together in the future to focus more on the onboard experience. Great idea!

@@susanhindley5327 We just returned from the New Orleans to Memphis cruise. The prices were high (starting around $5000/couple) but all inclusive. All meals, snacks, and drinks are included. There were also some premium cocktails available at an extra cost. We had a great time, the staff is spectacular, and the boat is fun. The cabins are a bit cramped but comfortable. Our only issue was that the boat broke down in Greenville, MS and we had to bused to Memphis! But it was all handled professionally and pleasantly.

Hi Diana... No, there are no major production shows or casinos onboard American Cruise Lines. Instead, they offer an intimate, casual atmosphere conducive to gathering and making friends with fellow passengers, as well as educational lectures and local entertainment.

Actually, I’m not at all impressed. It’s too cold and glacial. I think Splendor is too cold. My favorite is the Explorer. You have lost sight of your customer base.
