I have a 2004 Ford escape without fog lights are the plugins to install them on the vehicle?
@jonbesel4 күн бұрын
Not sure, but if you take off the lower plastics, I'm sure you could see up in there to see if there is.

Did it fix it?
@jonbesel28 күн бұрын
It quieted things down a little bit, but still hard to tell over the tire noise from cupped tires. Still waiting for them to get new tires. Brakes are in hand ready to install when customer is ready.

I managed to reach the flipper from the passenger side thru the tunnel panel I pulled . No need to take the shifter console out
@mygt8a4reАй бұрын
@reddyfreddy hey just saw this, can u elaborate on how exactly you got to the switch w/o removing the console? Like, how to remove the side panel to gain access to the switch? Thx!
@reddyfreddyАй бұрын
@mygt8a4re the side panel/carpet needs a really good tug. Just short of violence!. In the end, I had to remove the center boot to replace the switch anyway. TESTING WITH an ohm meter, the switch was actually BAD!. I strongly recommend the oem switch, the Dorman one uses a clamp on lever that fell off after 2 days, meaning I had to do it all over again. *A quick tip: I used a peanut butter jar to hold the side panels open to get to the side screws on the center column. Empty of course ! Use the 1# or so size. It's soft and will collapse a bit to stay in place and not hurt the side trim. You need to hit the trim pretty hard with the palm of your hand to get it back
@mygt8a4reАй бұрын
@reddyfreddy I appreciate the info Freddy! I'll be sure to use an empty peanut butter jar as well 😆 🍻

Excellent step by step tutorial. Removing the stud with the etorx on top of the manifold gave that extra little working space. 45 mins start to finish. Thank You Sir!

I cannot get the coils to come out. They seemed to come out easy for you, but I wiggled and tugged, and they just refuse to come out.
@jonbesel4 ай бұрын
When they're stuck on there good, I use a little trim tool to get under the mounting tab and pry up. Front ones came out easily, but the back ones were kind of stuck in.

Do you know a fix? My 2013 eco does the same thing
@jonbesel4 ай бұрын
Nope, never have figured it out. I think it's the wastegates holding back pressure during initial start up. Never caused an issue or anything, just annoying. Heard they pretty much all do it from those years.

Dude thank you so much for this. I have a 2015 Sport and had watched a couple videos already and bought parts/tools. I finally took the engine cover off today and had a brief moment of panic as I realized my engine looked nothing like the videos I'd watched. Was able to knock the job out in a couple hours after i found your vid. Had a heck of a time getting those boots out but that was the only issue, other than being a big guy in small spaces haha. Solid work my man.

Awesome, glad it helped! Yeah, tight back in there for sure, but doable!

Those b lue.bushimg parts are the mevotech Supreme brand. They sre great because they use metal sintered bearing material in the ball joints.rather than plastic, only thing bette is the next level ttx. From mevotech

Yep, I run the TTX stuff on my truck. Figured the supreme would be just fine for this lighter weight vehicle. Thanks!

Nice to see someone working on a car like the rest of us, with just a jack and jackstands. Good tip on putting the RTV over the grease zerk hole. I'll remember that if I ever run into a problem where the fitting will be hitting something.

Thanks! Yep, just a guy working on stuff in my garage. Learned my lesson about the sway bar links. Uploading a new video shortly on a 2010 I just finished up as well, used some different sway bars and they were great.

Oh yeah, forgot about this vid. Yes, both IWE's were bad, PLUS the vacuum actuator, PLUS the one way valve. Also found the vac line feeding that system was plugged as well. What I learned is water got into the vac lines at the actuator, and essentially made everything fail over time. New IWE's, New actuator, New one way valve, and then I T-ed vacuum from a different line to the 4x4 system because I didn't want to pull the intake to fix the one vac line that was plugged. Frustrating, but got it all fixed up.

Can this shift to park light that stays on 24/7 cause the battery to drain? Anyone know ?
@jonbesel2 жыл бұрын
I would assume so. I don't think it will turn off the accessory circuit unless it registers as in park.

I had my shifter changed under warranty a few years back, well now I'm out of warranty and it's happening again ... And you're telling me I just need to bend a piece of metal ? 😄 Dude you're a legend I'll just need to do this in my parents or friends garage since I'd bake in the heat doing this without being able to have the AC on 😄 Thank you for this video !!

I have the same noise. Do you know what it is?
@jonbesel3 жыл бұрын
Yes! Turned out to be the transmission separator plate... There is a TSB for it, mine was just barely covered before the powertrain warranty ran out. They have to take out the valve body in the tranny and replace the separator plate (essentially a gasket between upper and lower valve body). Turns out some of them have a hole through the gasket that is a little small, so it vibrates and makes that funny noise. Took care of the issue 100% and have not had any more noises from it.
