Great video. Thanks for sharing. As a novice I love watching your lines and tactics….and speed! I can gain so much from watching and just listening to your throttle work. Was this a club session or an actual race? Your car sounds awesome. All hail Watkins Glen!

Lmfao!! This is how i know car guys are lame. $160k plus for a 4.5 minute lap time. My cbr1000rr does consistent 1:57 without trying for the grand price of $13k.
@textvendingracing518911 ай бұрын
Are you okay man? I think your vision needs a little help? Best lap was a 1:57 which is the same lap time you are claiming on a 1000CC motorcycle! Also this was 5+ years ago before the repave(s) which made the track even faster. Also if you can find me another RS like this for 160K, please let me know lol!

@@textvendingracing5189 I didn’t watch that far… I did however look up gt3rs prices…$240k!!! What the sh!t!!! My point stands, lap times can be gotten for waaaayyyy cheaper.
@textvendingracing518910 ай бұрын
@@phillysslydogsly4186 So you are saying you didn't even get past the out lap, and already came to your conclusion? We don't just do this for "lap times" as you stated, we do this to learn car control, and until you drive one of these cars yourself, you don't really know what your missing out on, not to mention better outcome if something bad were to happen compared to a motorcycle. Also with the repave, I would be sub 1:50s in this car.
@phillysslydogsly418610 ай бұрын
@@textvendingracing5189 Yup haha Since I will never be able to afford one i'll take your word for it. I'd rather crash on my bike tho, seen to many cars fly off the mountain in the canyons. I'm dubious of a sub 2min lap in a car but I'm sure it's possible. But for 250k why not build an Ultima RS or something that can hit the lap time for less money? I don't want to even imagine the running cost of that GT3, Tires, brakes, suspension, etc.
@textvendingracing518910 ай бұрын
@@phillysslydogsly4186 again, this was 5+ years ago, this car is long gone and moved on to factory race cars which you can see from other videos on my channel, and even went pro racing in 2020 through 2023. I race spec Boxsters now which is pretty fun, with much less running costs. As far as saying you will never be able to afford one, you never know what the future will bring, I could of said the same 10+ years ago but I try to have a positive mentality and instead just say, one day it will happen!

@textvendingracing5189 Жыл бұрын
Well yes, kind of, but it is very bumpy through turn 8, and my car had an understeer so did a half lift trying to get the car closer to the curb, and off the bumps, just didnt work out that way :)

@@textvendingracing5189 Ah well you stayed on the track...all that matters on Big Willow. I will be there Nov. 4th, was hoping the repave made track conditions better.

@Juan-zk3dl TBH I have not been back here since 2019. It was so dam hot that whole weekend, which made the track a little slick, and the bumps are still there. Was told they didn't do turn 8, which would of been nice.

@@SparkySubie Catching slides is not to hard but when there is oil or something on the ground that is a different story and the electronics do an amazing job keeping me and the car safe without losing lap times. @@textvendingracing5189 Thank for explaining, i’ve tried this car in asseto corsa, AC competizione, and AMS2 and somehow it seems to feel most right in Assetto corsa (except for its feels too easy to drift on slicks there). In ACC the required steering input with the TC on feels too easy with not much corrections needed. AMS2 has a weird lack of front tire bite on turn in. You try any of these three sims?
