I just made a video where I came out to my communities a few months ago. It was the scariest thing I've ever done, and if I stopped making that video, if I stopped to think, I never would have picked it back up. It's done so much for my mental health, I really just don't have the words. Now, I'm being called "ridiculous" by the democratically elected convicted felon in the highest office in the land and he has made plans to go after all my friends, my wife, my community, everyone I know and love, on day one. I have done nothing to him and his base. I still bear them no ill will. If they were to stop this madness right now, I'd be willing to let bygones be bygones. I don't want to be a flag waving advocate. I don't want to push any kind of agenda. I don't want to be the pronoun police. I just want to live.

it will get as bad as possible given he won the majority of the supreme court justices which are lifelong posts so even after he's gone the new supreme court will make sure nothing can be undone as long as they are alive and all 5 of the 9 are very young for the post and ultraconservative. it's over

I came out just under a year ago. I'm terrified I'll have to go back in the closet. I haven't been this scared since living in Darfur (yes, *THAT* Darfur). I'm afraid for my partner, for my child, and for what the future holds. As we go into this long, dark night, at the edge of our hope, when all seems lost, all I can think is of those dark times. How many I lost. The scars on my body ache. The sleepless nights return. I wake up in a cold sweat, screaming. To those who have never lived under authoritarianism, a word of advice: a guerrilla knows how to wait, in the shadows, biding our time. The gray man lives the longest, and if I may borrow a line from Juan Cortez, "revolutions are not won by the fearLESS, they are won by the FEARED." So while I am terrified, while I am afraid of the things to come, I remind myself that courage isn't the absence of fear, but the assessment that something is more important than that fear. And so, once again, just like I did in Darfur... I wait. I bide my time. I organize. Our time will come. Maybe not this year. Maybe not next. But the midterms, assuming we have an election, are coming up. Let's make it not a blue wave, but a blue *tsunami* that is such a mandate on authoritarianism, conservatism, right wing policies, rhetoric, and hate that we put their political careers on metaphorical pikes as a warning to the next TEN GENERATIONS that some actions come with too high a price. Then we can look at them as they're booed out of office and wave buhbye. Can we arrange that, my trans brothers and sisters?

Alright, I'll give some clarification. Donald Trump won the US Presidency. On January 20th, he will be inaugurated as the 47th President of the United States. This, in light terms, is really bad for those who don't fit the model of White, Straight, AMAB, Christian, and a Trump Supporter. Even I, someone who can pass for all but one of those, is in danger. We're all sharing a sense of hope, and preparing ourselves for the future. Hope that clarified some things. Are things going better in the UK?

Solidaridad, minna! As a silly trans accla from the islands of the Philippines, moi can only hope that moi trans siblings in the US, in colonial America, find strength in one another and find others more... Moi can only hope that my trans siblings in the US/Turtle Island, find inspiration in the progressive struggles of LGBT folks and oppressed peoples in the Global South, like the struggling peoples of Palestinian being extincted by bombs made in the US and paid for by American tax dollars... ...that it is foolish to let people in power decide on the fates of so many, especially the marginalized and oppressed... and your crisis IS a chance, an opportunity to act together as communities and social movements and fight for change. ...that it's never too late to fight for change together with us trans sibling here outside of Empire! Fighting for meaningful change for the betterment of trans folks and working-class folks is never more relevant than ever, right? _Makibeki, huwag mashokot!_ (translated from bekispeak/bekimon [a queer argot-language here in the islands of the Philippines]: Join the struggle and slay, don't be afraid!) 🍉🏳⚧✊🏽

@@amberharmsen2497 aaah maraming salamat sa iyong solidaridad, Amber-sensei! Makibeki! <3 The more recent one is Duterte, Rodrigo Duterte, who got elected in 2016 under a supposedly LGBT-friendly platform and the War on Drugs platform that ended up in terrible extra-judicial killings (EJK) of so many poor people, urban poor people, youths, most likely including queer folks as well.. with an estimated 12k-30k lost souls... He never did carry out on his promise of enacting more LGBT-friendly laws and policies and instead encouraged LIVE ON TV and streaming that he wanted drug users and pushers unalived and ordered the police force in the islands to do what they thought they could do... Oh! If Amber-sensei and Trans Academy could find the time, there's a great documentary called "Call Her Ganda"? Maybe Trans Academy could hold like a film screening of it? Maybe for TDoR 2024 or something? Call Her Ganda's about a trans Pinay / trans Filipina woman who was brutally murdered by a US Marine... and the so many ways the US government interfered in the murderer's trial... as well as how American soldiers and the state literally get free reign and control over Philippine policies... and of course, how queer / accla / trans folks here survive, thrive and fight back! Maybe our queer and trans siblings in Turtle Island/imperial America could learn things from it? ^^
@AngelTail4 сағат бұрын
@amberharmsen2497 aaah thank u Amber-sensei! I actually posted a longer comment here that got deleted for some reason huhuhu... sorry for not retyping it! The more recent dictator is Rodrigo Duterte and his War on Drugs that lead to many urban poor folks, including queer youths, suspected of being drug users and pushers, being killed... 10k-30k estimated toll... Oh! Maybe Amber-sensei and Trans Academy and siblings in imperial US could get some learning from this documentary called "Call Her Ganda"? Maybe a film showing for TDoR 2024? It's about a trans Pinay / Filipina trans woman named Jennifer Laude who was murdered by a US Marine. The US government kept interfering with the case for justice. 'gotta keep all our memories and joint struggles and care alive! 🖤❤
