The noodles at Aurizon have a serious problem with not looking far enough into the future. Let’s make money for shareholders by disposing of assets. Then 5-10 years later: oops, we need locos and rollingstock because we left intermodal market and now we’re back in the intermodal market. In the meantime we lose historical locos like L class, 421s and 422s. Sadly these were cut up “by mistake” or so I heard. I think the 421 survived?
@waynemather65602 күн бұрын
We definitely need a 422 preserved before its too late. They are an historic loco but Thirlmere or any one else doesn't seem interested. Why?

The single deck Sydney suburban trains of 1992 red rattlers look great.They look like Melbourne's Harris trains at around the same time in the 80s

Nice to see the pinnacles included. I went down to see them a year ago and hadn't realized how close they where to the tracks. No trains while I was there though.

@bwDVD very fortunate I would say. I have a mate who used to drive for Pac National, he told me often they would have lashups just to please people such as yourself. He used to drive the crisps creek shit train and also the Canberra oil train which were hauled by x class. Personally I like Jimmy 2 strokes like emd 645 v16s

Why are they all not in service? How long does it take to modify a cab for guard working? Seems to be going on forever.

When Waratahs Series 1 & 2 retire also known as (A and B) sets in Sydney, these NIFs also known as Mariyungs or (D) sets will replace these Waratah trains.
@MrBargonian6 күн бұрын
@@adiankhan-i3i No they won't. The Mariyungs or D sets are to replace the V sets on Intercity services to Lithgow, Newcastle and the South Coast eventually.

I thought it would have made more sense to top and tail rather than double head. Still nice footage and I always likes the candy livery over the the Tuscan. It was and still is bright and welcoming.

I can't believe that a 422 has not been preserved . They are a historic loco being the first box type loco in NSW. They were a great reliable workhorse. Come on heritage rail, preserve one before its too late.

Harris Park Transport Co. bus at 6:21, which is a story for another time. It's amazing how lax OH&S standards obviously were as late as the early 1990s with trains going around with all of the doors hanging open. Also shown by the lack of fencing and absence of a level crossing warning system just after Carlingford station, seen at 20:37.
