1:05 That nest of sidings on the right associated with the Mortuary Station would be completely gone for a bus turnaround bay in just under two years.

2:45 Off topic but there is evidence of 1920s wiring staunchions in the dive to Darling Harbour Goods Yard? The capping on the upright struts looks authentic enough! The NSWGR metal fabricators did not go to that much trouble with decoration that often after that period.

Yeah, nah, that would be the "driver" who is... an "Engineman" ( Class 5 or 6) and his... "Fireman" or "Observer" This definitely isn't the USA old mate, and everything in the cab is where it should be. As for your vernacular/nomenclature in the USA for the crew, I spent countless hours explaining what my job title actually was for 32 years. enough already. Get a handle on it lol 😅 Kindly intended regards from us here in paradise at Tuckombil via Alstonville and East Ballina 800km north of Sydney ex Maroubra. MATE ✌️

I remember well the parcel office at StMarys railway station in the 60s A very old building which has been retained thnakfully during the upgrading of the rail line link to the airport at Badgerys Creek. Got off there a couple of times when i 'forgot' to buy a ticket

Miss the early ATN Days. When they looked new. The Wisconsin Central styled livery, the XGAY wagons all new without any graffiti. What a timeline to be a railway fan. Had the privillege to meet the original Melbourne based ATN drivers that I got the privilege to have them organise a cabride on L251 a year later from Junee to Henty. Great day of my life. great footage of them in it's very early days Bevan.

T363 nowadays hauls hauls maintenance trains and spark transfers in Victoria on the broad gauge. S302 is sadly going to be scrapped because of fire damage. GM27 is now in DP world livery. The 442s are still in service.

Fantastic video, would have loved to have seen the 422's back in regular service, they are certainly a nice locomotive, as are the 44's (and most other NSW locos along with the Victorian locos)
