For those watching this video, geogrid doesn’t mechanically hold the wall up and keep it from tipping over. What geogrid does is stabilize the soil behind the wall and spread the outward force of the solid, much like a snowshoe does when walking on the snow. It is a necessary element to a properly built retaining wall, usually every two feet of height.

Is this significantly cheaper or easier to install than a pre-made sock? Seems like you would need specialized equipment to fill it during installation.

Thanks for the comment about the pins. The pins are more for alignment than structural purposes.

How much does it cost for a wall that size? Also are you guys the gilliland landscape in clearfield PA?
@GillilandLandscape2 жыл бұрын
Yes we are based in Clearfield PA. Cost will vary based on site access and many other factors. With that said, large walls such as this you could expect to pay $50,000-$100,000.

That wall looks absolutely great...if you have about a billion dollars to spend.

Not quite that much.....our government could probably manage to spend that on this wall!!

Finally someone who actually knows what they're doing. Its a shame I just saw a video made 5 days ago with over 500k views about building a deck with no footings and a ton of other errors. Good job.

D dilla more like $50k in my neck of the woods. My neighbor constructed a pavilion identical to this on his own over a two month span for $3k in materials.

Nice work! What material did you use for the ceiling?
@GillilandLandscape Жыл бұрын
The ceiling is a tonuge and groove 2x6 that is the "inside" ceiling and also the roof sheeting that the shingles are attached to. This is used due to its ability to span greater distances.

How does it work?
@GillilandLandscape Жыл бұрын
When stormwater runs off a site, it traps the sediment (Dirt) that the water is carrying to prevent sediment escapes offsite.
@aggie77566 жыл бұрын
Great job! Very professional. What are the footprint dimensions on that pavilion?
@GillilandLandscape6 жыл бұрын
Thanks! The footprint was 24'x16' for the patio (hardscape) area. The roof had additional overhang the entire way around.
