Great interview, Mr. Schwantes. I'm ready to start a WD-40 'company-culture' fan club.

Absolutely a marvel. I could resonate so much with Dr. Wadhwa's words - spirituality and sense of purpose changes things around you dramatically and in a good way. Leaders with clarity bring positive changes in the world. Thank you for such wisdom and it's a masterpiece to connect this wisdom with leadership.

Excellent advise! Unfortunately this is Impossible when you work for a narcissist (malignant or covert)! They love control and the upper hand--- their inability to connect, listen to understand in any work or personal relationship hinders any progress. They require subordination at all times! Never get close, or you will discover who they really are ~ LOL ... oddly enough, you already know !

Dang so true, I feel at that breaking point where my life is just like he said my options are getting narrower. You know the only thing that has given some God given guidence which led me here was the 8 ways to grow emotional intelligence article in Inc. That to me, is golden. Thank you for this life saving article. I always felt I needed change from the negative judgemental mind set I have but just didn't have the knowledge to become that change.

After reading their best-selling book "The Secret," it is right for me to continue reading "Great Leaders Grow." I just can't get enough of their wisdom on leadership. And since it is written in a story form, I enjoy myself as I learned. Why do leaders need to GROW? "Growing for a leader is like oxygen to a deep-sea diver: without it, you die. Unlike the dive, you may not physically die - but if you stop growing, your influence will erode, and over time, you can even lose the opportunity to lead at all." They concluded that "The failure to grow sabotages the career of more leaders than anything else." The way to increased influence, impact and leadership effectiveness is through personal growth. "Our capacity to grow determines our capacity to lead."
