I was listening the compilation album "If I were a Carpenter" on Spotify yesterday (06/25/2024), honestly I finish the album from start to last Song. I had the cassette copy of that album in the 90s and I never finish it. I was blown away with the rendition of this song and I love it..This is the reason why Im here and for me if that album is a battle of the band, Dishwalla wins the top prize.

Some bands catch a wave and they become a one hit wonder not to say they’re not talented but it’s apparent why on the other hand I just felt that Dishwalla was too talented to really only have one chart hit awesome group

1 Peter 1: 1 “You are not forgotten, for you have been chosen and destined by Father God. The Holy Spirit has set you apart to be God's holy ones, obedient followers of Jesus Christ who have been gloriously sprinkled with his blood. May God's delightful grace and peace cascade over you many times over!” … Amen 🙏🏼

This band was and is still great. Many other songs didn’t get as much air play as this one did!! I remember first hearing about them from Freak on the Mancow show in the 90’s!! I absolutely love the songs “Until I Wake Up” and “Angels & Devils” I was a fan back then and STILL am and always will be!! ❤❤❤

Man I'm impressed with how he's bang-on with his pitch, this song is one of those songs where the softness of how it's delivered makes it deceptively hard to be in-tune

Must've been mid afternoon I could tell by how far the child's shadow stretched out and He walked with a purpose In his sneakers, down the street He had many questions Like children often do He said: Tell me all your thoughts on God Tell me am I very far Must've been late afternoon On our way the sun broke free of the clouds We count only blue cars Skip the cracks in the street And ask many questions Like children often do We said: Tell me all your thoughts on God 'Cause I'd really like to meet her And ask her why we're who we are Tell me all your thoughts on God 'Cause I'm on my way to see her So tell me am I very far, Am I very far now? It's getting cold, picked up the pace! How our shoes make hard noises in this place! Our clothes are stained We pass many cross-eyed people And ask many questions Like children often do Tell me all your thoughts on God 'Cause I'd really like to meet her And ask her why we're who we are Tell me all your thoughts on God 'Cause I'm on my way to see her So tell me, am I very far? We're not very far now We're not very far now We're not very far now

It's ok. Definitely enjoy the deeper vocals of the original singer J.R. Richards much more. J.R. has a more versatile vocal range with more emotion.
