I was watching the Roseanne show years ago, and a woman character in the show (worked at the restaurant with Roseanne?) sang a song and I thought, dang, that woman can sing! Turns out it was Bonnie.

The Birds really screwed up, they should had been the Eagles, would have had far more recognition. It's like saying High We are the Sparrows. Instead of Were the EAGLES bird of prey full of mystery and great power. My Band humor for the Day. Who really gives a Hoot eh?

What happened to this? Ronnie had tons of insight and did a decent job interviewing pears and friends in the industry. That fucker has to know everyone.

Imagine having only enough money for one 45 record, and trying to choose between Bill Haley or Gene Vincent or Elvis or some of the R&B guys. Cash only, no credit cards. Not only does it tell you how big an achievement a million-seller was compared to now, but it also helps explain why radio and DJs were so important in deciding who became famous and sold a lot of records.

The one person who can play any key on the same harmonica, probably more seamlessly than anyone else, is Howard Levy who pretty much discovered overblows and underblows - an innovation that he came up with enables you to play any key on any diatonic harmonica. Before Levy there was no real way of doing that.

I feel sorry for Eric Clapton, he always seems to get girlfriends pinched from him, George Harrison stole Pattie Boyd, Marc Bolan stole June Child from him, poor Eric, I wonder if there were other girl losses?

The Beatles and the Stones absolutely loved Buddy Holly. I've heard each Beatle individually praise the man. I've always thought the line in Beast of Burden, "you're a pretty pretty pretty pretty pretty pretty girl," came from "pretty pretty pretty pretty Peggy Sue."

My Grandfather is recently pictured online from a Gene gig in Dundee (cigarette in mouth.) Great sport- got shots of him wearing a Tam O Shanter. Eddie Cochran was support and provided an autograph to my Auntie. My Dad was there too- he photographed the Beatles (Rolling Stones too) later at the same venue (hadn’t met my Mum- Dundee Museum displayed shots, film too, of her trying to listen to how good they were over the screaming) and pillow fighting at, possibly, the Salutation Hotel, Perth. Something they did? Daily Mail has those shots. My GF was an amateur artist, stage cartoonist/ ‘comedian’ and had wanted to run away to the circus- WW2Reconn photographer etc…. Vera Lynn extra with serviceman as they watch her singing whilst standing on a bar. My Dad only sussed that when it was shown during Lockdown. Darryl Higham’s book cites Eddie sitting at the side of the stage cradling his guitar during a fight at the concert.
