As expensive as Ottawa is, it's still not as bad as Toronto. You can get nicer apartments and houses in Ottawa for less than in Toronto. It's why Millennials are moving east toward Ottawa from Toronto.

Toronto should’ve been the Capital of Canada, because Toronto is mostly popular then Ottawa and high local Business, and the Population is 3X bigger then Ottawa! So i say Toronto should be the Capital and Toronto is better then Ottawa. (My opinion)

The sheer entitlement and ignorance from people living in Ottawa is quite astounding too. They all cried and scurried into their gated homes when the blue collars came to the city to protest their frustrations.

Tenant is in a month to month and has been provided with a 60 days notice. My question is can we close escrow before the 60 days and the new buyer to wait for the 60 days for the tenant to be out.
@nickpolegatoRE4 ай бұрын
Hey, great question. It all depends how your agreement of purchase and sale is worded. If the buyer assumes responsibility of the tenants, you can close early and have the buyers serve the 60 days notice. However, if it states that the seller is responsible for serving notice and providing a vacant unit (home), then you will not be able to close the sale until that condition has been met, I.e. the tenant has vacated. Worth reviewing the agreement with your realtor or lawyer

Can someone tell me if they experienced this in Ottawa… but I feel like people are so cold and unfriendly…. Like I just moved here and in 2 weeks I had like 3 cashiers who wouldn’t say a word! Like 0! And Uber driver was silent haven’t said a word. I never experienced this in my life! I lived in Winnipeg 12 years , Calgary 2 years, Victoria 6 months and Vancouver I just left but I was there for 3 years and never ever I have experienced so many cold people!

Hi, I see they speak French and English could that be the problem? I don't mean to make your experience worse, I know from my own experience If I'm not comfortable in a land or city I leave, I lived in Toronto for 1 year in 1990

Hey, sorry to hear this has been your experience after moving here! It can be tough these days. People seem more and more disconnected with others around them everywhere I go. Everyone seems to be in a rush to go nowhere. I hope this changes for you! There are some really awesome folks that live in and around the city. I also lived in Winnipeg! Most people are crazy friendly there. Friendly Manitoba but also way too cold lol

Ottawa has a better transit service but still weak for a National Capital. Gatineau service is only buses with few routes, scarced shelters, no service after 10pm and very unreliable. I endured for a time but became good at walking long distance.

I spent a week in Ottawa in the summer. If you find the city boring it's because you yourself are boring. There are tons of things to do. The night life in the Byward market area was a lot of fun. So if you find it boring maybe you should look in the mirror for the answer.

Transportation is awful. LRT is always broken since it opened years ago. The healthcare system is broken and terrible since COVID. Not enough houses to buy so the price is too high. Sorry man, you are not updated. Ottawa, Gatineau is not a good place to live anymore. I would like to see comment if I am negative or if I say the truth.
@nickpolegatoRE Жыл бұрын
The LRT is a fragment of the transport system but yes, it has fallen off as the city gets poorer and poorer. All the other points you make are going on across the country. It is not unique to Ottawa or Gatineau. To say I am not updated is arrogant at best. Ottawa still has a strong job market where you can earn top dollar. Homes are cheaper relative to household income than any other major city in Canada. Ontario healthcare system still ranks first or second in the country. And provincial taxes remain one of the lowest in the country. Where do you suggest people should go for equivalent job security and pay? Toronto? Vancouver?

As long as you don’t mind paying double the taxes, it’s definitely an option
@NickBB36011 ай бұрын
@@nickpolegatoRE And this is why no one like realtors, stop spreading lies to make more sales please.... Yes you pay Quebec taxes if you live in Gatineau, which are greater than Ontario, but its not close to "double the tax"... If you are implying that you are paying Quebec and Ontario taxes, this is 100% wrong and you should know better if you are going to give advise to people. Houses are half the prices, private school for kids is 90% cheaper, day care is cheaper, you get money for having kids, municipal tax is cheaper, pharmacy is cheaper, utilities are cheaper. If you are a higher earning DINK couple yes the income tax difference may be worth it, otherwise nope. There are other reasons to live in Ottawa instead of Gatineau (For example, you prefer to live in the city versus a semi-crappy suburb, or you don't want to send your kids to school in french) but financailly, Gatineau is better for >90% of the public
