I remember watching him in my pj's on ABC with my parents in the 1970s. I can remember vividly. That pose, drink on the side, cigarette, strong stage lights and him perspiring, touching his forehead, skits and more. So many great tv shows then. Now, tv is shit and I don't watch it.

Imagine hearing and seeing a comedian these days, this funny and this well dressed? Allen was class and he was a class act.

Cool. It’s a lot better than a lot of the stuff we get these days anyways. Proper drama between father and son underneath the comedy for starters. Crawfords should release the whole series.

I love how he throws in the little digs at chanel 9. First part " it's been a while since he was on Australian TV, "live" anyway. And now the " argument while on the the commercial brake ". Referring the reason why they sacked him the last time. 😂
@Lee-nh5bb
@Lee-nh5bb 11 ай бұрын
I'm sure they never sacked him! They were lucky to get him. I don't think he liked all the commercials they would bung in; maybe because he worked at the BBC where there were no commercials during the show.
@angr3819

@@Lee-nh5bb They did 'sack' him. Believe it or not there were complaints because some of his humour wasn't politically correct at the time. Also some found his jokes about re-legion offensive, but I bet a fair few clergy used to watch him on the quiet and laugh all the way through.

Wow, not a Melbourne deal I’ve ever know I just know the one with the second most expensive in the world that is overcrowded where young people feel like there is no hope for the future in the wake of the entire countries population doubling at a very fast rate.

40 years later we now have a debt bigger than NSW, QLD & TAS combined......a few government big build progects, that will undoubtedly run way over budget, lack of affordable housing, energy costs continually rising........we didn't know how good we had it then🤣
