Dan is correct. Follow overhand golf, they are both dead on. To throw the club at the ball you have to release or leverage force before the ball. Club is designed that way. It’s not a bat. Club face is off the axis of club. I’m not explaining that well, sorry. But this is huge, see overhand golf. Complimentary channels

I have a used set of clubs that I used for throwing at the target. I quit because my ball striking did not improve. When I started using the PRO I discovered that I needed to sling the PRO to the ground and not the target. Today, I explored throwing the clue and to the ground and I videoed both going to the ground and the target. To the ground with the club and PRO look very similar in motion. When I used a ball I had to throw the club to the ground in front of the ball. That changed everything for me. In the bunker I used behind the ball.

Man, I've been a student of your swing with the Pro for yearsalthough I've never had a lesson with you. But I have felt the Angular momentum feeling that you have been talking about. I've been re watching your videos again and again and my understanding of the information is clicking so much better AFTER the feeling has been felt. Thank you.

I'll do you one better - my intention is throwing the force well behind the ball (early release) and letting momentum just carry through the ball. May be a feel vs real thing but the more I feel I'm going behind and letting it go, the better I do.

Hi Dan - another great video. Can't tell you how much your teaching has revolutionized my ball striking. Curious if you would do a video about hitting out of long rough. That is an area I struggle with and feel I need to apply leverage to the club in order to get the ball out. Keep up the great videos! Very much appreciated.

Hey Dan , i would hope the gentleman who wrote the concept on throwing the club at the target ,i believe he was thinking that we would turn it into a golf swing to actually hit the ball, but you definitely made his piont clearer, i watched a few of his videos and he had a great golf mind , stern in his approach, but a great golf mind, you're an outstanding teacher, but it was all about the game of golf, so I'm thinking he thought that we the student would understand to get that feeling but direct towards the ball. No? feels and reals ,its the great unknown in the golf swing.

Yea I was wondering the same thing. I thought the point of a swing is to direct momentum behind the ball, because directing it at the ball would move the arc and release point too far forward, thus forcing a manipulation of the club we don't want. Would also like some clarification on this.

Exactly, clubhead can't release properly unless directed down parallel line to rotation axis.

Well, let's give Dan a break on this one. It's so different than his teaching it's almost like he's comprised to shoemaker somehow. Shoemaker teaching is garbage and Dan should stick with his. My ball stroking and scoring has improved dramatically with Dan's theory, but this is trash.

Great video , i use the throwing the club motion whenever i feel a bit stuck , mis aligned or even a bit tense , it synchs me up and gets my natural alignment and posture back , the actual swing is always directed for me into the back of the ball between 9 and10 oclock depending with the intention of going into the ground although i very very rarely take a divot more a shave , that is the intention and aim . I only use the throw feels to synch up my timing and stop damaging swing thoughts or wobbles . Club and or clubhead follows lead arm ( like throwing) that is my only allowed thought and feel .

I always wondered if a training club you can hit balls with thats counter weighted so the grip end is heavier or equal to the clubhead end would work. Obviously ball flight would be muted but you always see drills to turn the club over and take practice swings to hear the swoosh, or even the whippy clubs but you cant hit balls. No disrespect to the pro or rope drills but it just doesn't capture the actual activity we're pursuing. Anyway swinging the entire club mechanism on plane in balance consistently is the goal so gotta find a way. Ive had good success using that DL3 Freddy Couples drill of swinging like 1/4 speed and just swing the whole club in control no levering at all, and getting the brain to absolutely not care one little bit how far the ball goes or how far offline ir anything else. Just have the brain focus on the whole clib swinging action as we strike the ball almost non chalauntly because really thats the process. The strike is simply a result of the clean full swinging action.

Dan, This is an amazing video. I went outside and practiced this, making me aware of my backswing faults. Before, I had no sense of my right arm being too tight to my body, even though I knew it was my major fault. When I watched my arm in the proper position I finally could feel and be aware of my arm structure it clicked. When I brought the club down I kept my arms in front of my body without being trapped. Thank you! I'm taking it in pieces. Next, I will work on my follow-through.

Yep. Although, most people's belief of what the club needs to do is actually wrong, so even it they performed their ideal swing perfectly it wouldn't work very well. I'm sure that statement will upset a lot of people, but it's true. 99.5% of golfers are using the club incorrectly. The golf club is not a "common sense" tool as everyone thinks. It's an amazingly efficient, well engineered tool disguised as a stick with a lump of metal at the end.

Thank you Dan, I'm so glad you hit on this video, in some videos you show your eyes and head follow the pro all the way back and down and it's helped me stop coming over the top, if you can believe that, I'm the guy who just wants to go after the ball , and I think that's the biggest factor for coming over the top, and you've stated many time we need a full shoulder turn , that was a eye opener for myself, I thought I had a full back swing but it was more with my arms then with my shoulder plane and upper torso, when I watched my swing it's gave me a complete back swing , which was a completely differnt feeling than I was used to , those 2 things you've talked about for years have helped me beyond believe. 2 very simple drills if you think about it, Thanks again, Dan, absolutely love your concepts on how the golf swing works.

Hey Dan, i love going back and watching you're video over, of course i miss alot of little pionts you make, anyway i wanted to make another comment about a short game video ive been checking out. the guys name is the short game chef, idk a guess a cool name, he teaches some tour pros along with amateur golfers, what he's talking about with the short game i believe, matches your teaching, its much more of a body rotation coming in shallower and having more spin and control than the chip thats steep and more of a downward blow that would use wrist hing and a bigger back swing, hes proven already that shorter shallower back swing can produce great spin with much better distance control. idk i thought of your theory while listening to him talk about the swing. i sure you know who he is just wondering what you're thoughts were on what hes teaching? Thanks Dan , be safe and please keep bring you're teaching out to the public, is so on piont, that in my eyes there is no debate on how to properly swing a golf club.

How does this Theory play in with high balance clubs or counterbalance clubs? For example I know Shane Lowry uses tents a orange shafts which are very high balance so meaning the weights more toward the grip how does this fit in with this narrative?

@danmartingolf

Not sure exactly what you mean about load and unload? But certainly if you do turn it upside down, it incurs way less air resistance and moves a lot faster.
@jacobr4558
@jacobr4558 20 күн бұрын
@@danmartingolf@danmartingolf yes and that would be equivalent to a"high balance point" shaft or possibly a counter balanced shaft. You can swing the club like a hammer, stick or a upside down hammer. In baseball they have and loaded bats or balanced bats where the weight is more toward the handle. So in other words golfers are going to make tons of micro compensations depending on what they're trying to do. Your model swings an end loaded Club. But what if the weight was in a different place? The person would swing very differently and their body would move very differently. I'm not saying your way is wrong I'm saying it's only one way of doing this.
@jacobr4558
@jacobr4558 20 күн бұрын
@@danmartingolfBryson dechambeau's driver is a B9 swing weight. This wouldn't fit in with your model of the weight being at the end. It would be more like if you swung the grip and held on to the foam side. It would feel much lighter and be easier to swing.
