Thank you for addressing the issue of safety. No doubt many viewers were wondering about that question as they watch you walk around unfamiliar neighborhoods.
@glowingfish4 күн бұрын
To be honest, it isn't something that I think about a lot. Especially because I regularly see the elderly or the disabled walking around, so I figure---if they are safe, I am safe! My biggest safety concern is for traffic, and also that I will over exert myself. The biggest problem I usually worry about with others is that I might be doing something rude, especially when I am recording, and that someone might act defensively. But being attacked randomly doesn't really cross my mind.

That can be a tricky thing about mall videos. Actually, it is much easier in an abandoned mall. The Albany Mall is actually quite crowded, or it was when I went there...which is why my video for the Albany Mall is only two minutes long or something. It is pretty popular despite that.

Volcan Barva is an not so explored option. Or sight seeing!

I will keep the ferias in mind, I have wanted to see one! For four weeks, I was in school, so I wasn't taking as big of trips---also, like you said, it is best to be spontaneous. Christianity is the #1 religion in Costa Rica, and one website describes the Costa Rican Christmas season as "very festive"... yet there are no decorations to be seen anywhere. Is it just that they put up decorations later than we do in the U.S.?

The most frightening face on the Barva sign is the creature with the pineapple head, which I suppose is related to Costa Rica being the world's top producer of pineapples.

The design is not good, it should be at street level and should have more seats to rest, remember that the squares are small oases within the cities to rest on a bench, sunbathe and maybe eat something, and then return to the work routine. This square lacks benches, and the design is not good.
@glowingfishАй бұрын
A lot of people have made the same criticisms--- a lot of people don't like it because it is too dry. But one thing to note is that this is right between busy train and bus lines, so it is not an ideal location for resting. A few blocks from here, there is also Director's Park, and then the South Park blocks, which are much better places for resting. Most people here are just waiting to get a train or bus.
