Thank you for this video. I was burned out in the late 90s. It has been a long journey, with little help from doctors, psychiatrists and psychology. the only help they could offer was antidepressants which ruined my physical health. I tried alternative methods, which helped, but nothing dramatic. Then I read Bessel van der Kolk, which was great, but something was missing. That led me to Gene Gendlin, and there I found the missing concept. The felt sense is the key. As I experienced meditation, I went from my mind into my body and relaxed my body and felt better, but later I was back to where I was, tense and anxious. Now, seeking my felt-sense, I go from my mind and find the fork in the path, instead of going straight down to my body, I take the fork to my soul (felt-sense) and rest there. This started two months ago, and I am already recovering my old self (fortunately more mature). As my soul relaxes, my body follows, and when I finish a session, the relaxed, calmer "old me" remains.

What to do if staying present is very difficult, various thoughts, doubt come and go, like a loop, And doubts come is this feeling is right or not
@annweisercornell2054
@annweisercornell2054 11 күн бұрын
There are many things to say, but the short answer is to acknowledge the thoughts and doubts with acceptance. "Something in me is doubting, and I say hello to that."

Hi Anne, I am reading you and your friends book and am about half way through. Really enjoying the content! I am in my practicum for becoming a therapist. I have some questions about implementing this with others and certain reactions which happen, along with my own therapeutic applications. Is there a way to consult with you? Thanks so much

This session was so incredibly helpful, Ann. 🥰I see 'something in me' feels Uncertainty a lot more than I realised, so I can keep listening and being with this! I've got your new book, too! I'm so thrilled - I love the personal 'journal-style' entries which make the book feel so alive and relevant. You do an amazing job, in all your work, of cutting through the theory to get to the real heart of the matter. Thank you, Ann. ❤

Watched this video several times already. You show me how to allow myself to feel whatever is there, even though it is painful. The part about inner objection is spot on. Thank you so much, you have no idea how much this video has helped. Thank you for your kind and calm tone.

Hi Molly, it is understandable to be somewhat confused if this inner process is new to you! Try an introduction to Focusing? Perhaps contact Ann Cornell for a session with her or join one of her online group workshops to take this knowledge a little farther for you. All the best.

Hi Ann I'm loving your video clips and I'm finding it so true and helpful to be aware of the body sensations. The acknowledgment of the feeling helps. I have a UTI and I'm giving myself rest because my body told me I need it. Thanks for the insights😊

Say a gentle Hello to what is painful, and then imagine you are sitting down next to it, like with a friend, to get to know it better. Everything you want to know will be there.

thank you Barb that was exactly my situation i wanted to asked out and to get showm his engagement and to be wanted- That did not happen so i now sit and somehow frozen in the impossible and the not knowing how to go on with it. Feeling no more able to feel love and receiving love again and feeling closed and somehow diminished in my capacity to love what would be the the very first step?

Can I answer... All the time? The more you do it, the better. When you wake up in the morning, when you fall asleep, after you read your email, before you start a meal... And ideally, eventually, you will be in touch with your feelings all the time! -Ann
