He's wonderful! Well trained and fun. It makes me miss my dachsund who lived to be 15. He was a great traveler, quiet,, potty trained, and great hiking buddy. This is fun to watch!🎉😄

For some unfathomable reason these dogs disappeared altogether from Europe from the mid eighties until a few years ago. Now they're everywhere again, but I wondered what happened. They were so very popular in the late seventies... 🤔 Here in Portugal we didn't call them _Dachshunds,_ usually we called them _Bassets,_ which is French, or nicknamed them Salsichas, _Sausages,_ and it was impossible not to like them. They are amazingly friendly. 😀

Fun to watch this little guy. However, as someone who has had 6 dachshunds since 1990, it pained me to see him having to use all those stairs. I hope his owner realizes that IVDD (back disc issues) are very common in all dogs with long backs.....especially dachshunds. The mere movement of going up or down stairs put wear and tear on their backs. If IVDD happens, the dog will be paralized and immediate surgery and confinement will be needed for him to recover.
