The answer for 8 is also wrong it is not fourteen it is 37 because the cube is hollow from behind ,as it is stated that do not assume that the back and interior of cube is filled So the answer is calculated by this method Total cubes required for making cube =4×4×4=64 Cubes visible in first layer=7 Cubes visible in second layer=6 Cubes visible in third layer=7 Cubes visible in fourth layer=7 Total visible cubes=7+7+7+6=27 Cubes required to complete the cube=total - visible cubes =64-27 =37 (answer) And the 4pi - 4 answer for Q1 is also not possible due to following reason, 4(pi) - 4=12.56 - 4 =8.56 The area of the given square=2×2=4 Now how can a region inside a shape is having the area greater than the area of the shape Conclusion:4 pi -4 is not a possible answer.
