Hi, do you have to install the Wideband and the IAT sensor before starting the car; if so, where is the best location to install the IAT sensor?

Back to stock rebuild bottom end with bolt on and standalone, used to be built high comp pistons, I recommend suspension and stand-alone with a tune first

Hey bro, I ended up putting that same exact head gasket in my friends car because he had a similar issue to you. He’s currently chilling at 12 psi , head studs are putting that work in lol Also, I had a eBay pistons for a long time before I went to Weisco , I believe I may have got lucky or something but I made with over 450 with them 😂

I kind of regret not saving 7m. Immediately after the blown head gasket, I swapped it to 2jz. I regret that I didn't play with increasing the power in the 7m, the sound of this engine is amazing 😈 Good luck

After I got the 7m done probably and did a real pull I wondered and also seriously wonder there has to be someone that has already done more to it, and it was the underdog duane from roads untraveled and thats what I took the path in yo

OEM rods and pistons will hold 600whp all day long with a properly sized turbo and keep the timing soft down low. You can reuse your forged rods and get some stock cast pistons and be laughing. I would highly recommend getting an ATI damper and a billet oil pump gear though, they will save your engine.| You do NOT need oversize valves in the slightest, OEM valves have made 800whp in some builds and your BC springs will be more than enough. They don't really wear out unless you heat them until they are glowing red hot hahah. You can definitely get a lot of flow increase by doing a basic bowl clean up with a die grinder, the stock valve seats do not have a smooth transition to the rest of the port, and some of the ports are just strait up misalligned with the seat throats. You can probably just lap in your valves again, if the seats are properly toast then a 3 angle valve job at most. Unless you are going for 600whp + you should stay with cast pistons though so you avoid all the piston slap issues with forgies. Stock cast pistons are still ultra strong, they just won't hold up to prolonged 5th gear top speed runs etc where they will possibly overheat, although the stock oil squirters help a LOT with keeping them cool. Don't overcomplicate the 7M like so many do, a lot of the time the OEM stuff is better than aftermarket stuff, or way way stronger than most people realise. DO NOT GET EBAY pistons xD Get a hold of some stock stuff, I ran 20psi on a ported head 7000rpm on a 60mm turbo making nearly 500whp on an Australian dyno dynamics and it held up fine with stock pistons even with a 9:1 compression ratio with a thin gasket and lots taken off the head and block. I have a new build with a fully built engine top and bottom due to 1000hp power goals but stock stuff is really good in the 7M! (apart from the oil pump gear and stock oil cooler setup, they are junk and need replacing)

You know that the rear timing plate has to be machined with the block as it seals the head gasket. You can't just swap a spare one on or it will instantly blow a headgasket next time you run the engine. Should have just junked the crank and cut the nose off as you will now have to completely strip the engine and take it to a machine shop. Also these cranks do not go out of balance, they are forged steel from the factory and are nearly impossible to damage and they handle over 1000whp easily. The imbalance was definitely due to that mutilated front pulley, was it cut in the outer ring like that when it was running? That is nearly certainly what killed the oil pump gear due to vibrations from the crank, especially at harmonic rpm ranges
@lockjawjak11 ай бұрын
what in the world is going on with that crank pulley xD Is it really JB welded onto the crank! Also why has it been cut in the outer ring?

Im going to get you a little something one the gofundme. For pistons I would advise oem over ebay
@awsom011 ай бұрын
I would just take the time to do it right this time bro. I'm in the same boat and want my car back running after 10 years. It'll be worth the time to do it right so you can enjoy it for years to come
@DIY-Mark-311 ай бұрын
The cause of the crack ring lands is due to the piston rings over heating and to gap closing causing to ends of the rings to touch each other. You'll need to increase your ring gap slightly to prevent this.
@7mGod711 ай бұрын
yeah it did over heat due to fan belt coming off, but still.
