great vid! is this vid still good after the changes recently?
@OneTimeHero9 сағат бұрын
Yes! A lot of the changes are centered around nerfing whiffs from Ed not his actual advantaged situations or flow-chart. He's still that same guy. One thing to mention though is you can't just press crLK anymore since they made it whiff a bit more and the advantage went down. I have faith that Capcom will unnerf that but we'll see.

@OneTimeHero9 сағат бұрын
I think Ed was one of the harder characters for me to understand. Something you can do to have some fun in the mid range is to do a LK flicker to get them to jump after they block a couple and then anti air. People hate that. Since you used to play Marisa, you don't have the amazing experience of having low hits confirm into full combos, I recommend using crMK or crMP in situations where you literally couldn't do anything like that before with Marisa! It really opens up his game and you can see why people get upset against Ed

I think what I had some issues with initially is using more fireballs than fake ones. If you need any tips or have any specific questions I'd love to help!

Does this stuff still work after the recent patch?
@OneTimeHeroАй бұрын
The double bomb, no. I think they fixed that; however, all the other pressure scenarios work. Word of advice though, even if you decide to put them in a block string after applying the bomb, end with psycho mine and you'll be plus again. Too often bison players will end with scissors and give up their advantage (on block).

what do I do for pressure if I'm on modern and don't have stand medium punch
@OneTimeHero3 ай бұрын
If you don't have stand medium punch, I would consider pressing stand lk. The timing will be different but you'll be safe. Otherwise, I might also just consider mixing that lk up and doing stHP which I believe you might have on modern for sure.

@OneTimeHero3 ай бұрын
A lot of the better players focus more on the sequences after combos than the combos themselves. That said, I would stay away from doing rekka combos (one ones that end in drink) and instead combo from crLP to the HK Arrow. From there you can either pressure them or take a drink. Let me know if that makes sense!

Im struggling as manon in this match up. I appreciate the guide. Mwhahaha Also i like the tcg graphics really nice edit man
@OneTimeHero3 ай бұрын
I think that Manon has a lot of trouble against Ed. Learning how Ed plays can really help you understand where your options are. In general, if you can react to the disrespectful stuff that Ed does you will win more. For example, if he does a stHP into a OD Flicker, you can DI in between for a big punish. Ed players sometimes just throw these attacks out there without regard for what might happen if the opponent isn't asleep.

I have been trying to not call them 'Fierce' anymore but it slips out! This is OLD terminology from when fierce/roundhouse were used to describe HP/HK. The game has changed so much but some of this old language stuck on me.

Any tips against cammy while playing as Ed she’s my biggest problem?
@OneTimeHero3 ай бұрын
Since I play both characters I'll say that Ed has a lot of trouble because of his anti airs. The advice I have is to anti air the obvious dive kicks that come from here stHK range. In this match you'll want to get her to the corner as fast as possible if you can do id do cancels into strike throw pressure and try to get her to make a mistake early. Midscreen fake fireballs, using killrush (back), can keep them guessing a bit while you punish them walking forward. If you really good, try to stand where they are going to back spin fist and jab then react to them doing back spin fist and hit stMP or crMP to interrupt. If this doesn't make a ton of sense, I can try to find some replays for you to look at but that's the best I can do quickly at the moment.

Quick note for post throw oki, in the corner you always want to use light snatcher as it is DI safe even when fully charged meaning you can DI back if they wake up DI. Medium snatcher reaches full charge a bit later (3 frames later I think) and is not DI safe due to this.

My ed reeeeally sucks i just block and poke and get my ass combod. Im sad about getting gold 5 with him cause i worked hard to get guile there and have been playing ed like him. Feels like ed got the cheat in for him or something.
@OneTimeHero5 ай бұрын
I think playing Ed is actually kinda difficult if you are coming from Guile. Ed's fireballs are pretty punishable compared to Guile's because it's a 2 step process. Try to do a 'fake' fireball first, then do an anti air with crHP or PsychoUppercut (LP). Flicker is a pretty dangerous move since you might get jumped in on as well. The key to using this move is anti-airing them a lot making them desperate on the ground and then doing 1 or 2 flickers (blocked). If you notice they jump after the first blocked flicker, use that, and look for another anti air for at least 10% damage. Hopefully this makes sense, I've fallen behind on producing some follow ups and I pray this will change soon.
@greysunomain5 ай бұрын
@OneTimeHero yeah a main thing I'm experiencing now is his dp I never can land it I guess guile spoiled me seems to have precise timing and positioning. The flicker pokes are a godsend. I never really learned how to combo honestly amd it seems essential on ed with low damage. Ty for the tips.

@МирославКръстев-с7и5 ай бұрын
Honestly it seems like that was the intended way to play Cammy. Long-reaching safe on block normals to condition your opponent and test their patience and multiple buttons that can create space or frame traps (st.HP > cr.MP, 3 st.LPs > st. HP, even fw.HK, a useless button as of now with clear idea behind it- create some space and punish a whiff). Watching Punk's playstyle and trying to somewhat imitate it is what's carrying me through the ranks. It's really rare to get hit by a random DP, a DI, or just any buttons with long startup when you're playing patiently and have time to react. And the reward for punishing those is massive.
@OneTimeHero5 ай бұрын
I think this is the long-term strategic way to play Cammy. You can sprinkle some hooligan's in here or there but the way Punk plays Cammy allows for stability. Great comment here!

There’s a more effective dizzy combo that doesn’t scale. When you do the Psycho Knuckle, wait till they drop on the knees, then S. HP > EX Flicker > L. DP > L. Blitz > lvl 3. You’ll get over 50% damage and still have almost your entire DG intact.
