Just after watching it a couple times, I think they must have been looking at the questions the interviewer sent through beforehand (this is standard practice in interviews btw) and had the idea for that bit, and Phil was probably like; P: Alright, when I give the signal y- D: What's the signal? P: I dunno, something like Home Improvement or something, and then you just come in with like a blast beat with your hands When Phil says "I just bought a house" it looks like Darrel thought that was the signal, and started doing the blast beats too early but Phil wasn't ready yet lol. Long haired Pantera were cool, but i do think ST is right cos Metallica and Slayer and Anthrax all dropped a look long ago and set the scene for the new wave of heavy and thrash Metal, Pantera couldnt get big in the hard rock days so it was a perfect opportunity to get on the heavy wave when AIC and Pearl Jam came out, that said i believe what vinnie and dime said that they were actually fake in there glam days cos they were trying to fit in and they looked up to bands like Metallica in the mid 80s, RIP The abbot brothers forever jamming!
