Your wall hanging is beautiful. I have make a quick drawing on paper of your block. This would be wonderfully done in fall colors also. Thank you for your video. A walling to cover an ugly window is a wonderful idea.

They usually stick pretty good. Sometimes I have to use scotch tape to get them to stay better when the wall gets really linty. Thanks so much for watching!

Great video! I especially like the part where you prep before clearcoating. Not a lot of people do that. Right now I’m working on a minibike that I needed waiting for the 2K coat to come in the mail. One issue that I see in my work, is that when I put itit has a texture to it, which is obviously the rust that’s on top so I did 2000 sandpaper which which doesn’t Which doesn’t take off the rust completely but smooth it out. Then I’ll do what she did in the video which is washing down dry it and then I think it’s safe for me to clearcoat it. There’s different clear coats over at Home Depot that two um but there’s a better one that is high gloss that’s called 2K clearcoat. Don’t get confused with the 2X and 2K 2K will really make your paint or patina pop way more than other clear coats out there. I’ll try to make a video of the process so if you’d like to subscribe to my channel.

This video was exactly what I was looking for! Thank you I have not been able to figure out how to get the rotary cutter to work and this video explained it perfectly. I'm trying to cut fabrics to be used as appliques, so I will be adding Heat n Bond to the back of the fabric. I'm going to experiment with scraps for a bit before tackling the actual project. It's a fabric kit so there is not room (or very little room) for error.

If you have something that will fit inside the old sugar bowl, it will take less filler to fill the pincushion; and, you would have a space inside the bowl under the pincushion (to store thread, a needle threader, and small snips). That would turn your Vintage Pincushion into a handy sewing kit to place anywhere one may be needed. You would hot glue the pincushion to the lid of the item that will sit inside the bowl. A lot of small things could fit in also (like buttons, snaps, hooks and eyes). Your pincushion turned out cute. Thank you.

Mountains for me, I usually try to go up to the mountains for at least a month every summer. It’s cooler there since I live in the desert. I LOVE Hamilton, have been privileged to go there 3 different times. The museum is fantastic, I much prefer it to the National museum in Paducah. Should mention that the museum is not affiliated with MSQC although sometimes they do collaborate on exhibits. I had the chance to visit once with the lady who heads it, very interesting visit. She home schools her kids and sometimes they put together historic exhibits that blend with their American History studies. I suspect that exhibit on Einstein was one such. I agree with another comment that you need a lot of $$ when you go there. I have always spent WAY too much , it’s a budget buster town for sure but so much fun!

Another trick to save your mat from getting fuzzy is to use a piece of removable vinyl on your mat upside down so your fabric sticks to the backside of the vinyl, and the front is stuck to the mat.

I have to cut a Celtic shamrock for 4 corners. Will this be distorted due to the cutting or removal from the mat? thank you for showing how to cut fabric - you saved me hours and lots of fabric not to mention frustration!!!
@cuttingedgequilter

If you are cutting on a bias or are worried about distortion, I would suggest ironing a thin layer of fusible web or interfacing to the back first.
