For suncheck, i'm wondering how LEM search the sun automatically. In this case, LED has a command module, probably causing the change of center of the gravity. Can LEM control its body automatically with a command module?

I think this mission gets overlooked because they didn't land on the moon. But it was a super important step to land on the moon.

When I watched the actual launch on tv I thought it was the slowest rising Saturn V I had seen yet. Think I was in junior high school. It seems it took 15 a while to clear the tower. And I thought cause it had the added load of the rover and much more scientific equipment. Worden 1st deep spacewalk. Adventurous. After Apollo 8 and 10. Fifteen my favorite.

4:49:21 I find myself wondering if NA had been in this situation, would he have sussed it out quicker? That’s not a criticism of JL or MCC, just wondering how his brain would have tackled the problems.

An exceptional educator and communicator. I watched JB's broadcasts avidly from the age of 10 (Apollo 11) - onwards. A simply breathtaking broadcaster. Where on Earth is that knighthood!!

Question: Is the audio in this video split so that the Capcom link is on one channel, while the FD Loop is on the other? I'd be curious to seperate the two and hear one compared to the other.

Should've included some of the CBS News feed, with Wally Schirra trying to hold up the windscreen in the CBS News trailer during liftoff, and his and Walter Cronkite's comments on the long-range camera's shot.

I admire the way GK runs the ship. You don’t have to be a hardass bootcamp drill sargeant to get the best results from your team.

Revisiting after a couple years, I really appreciate being able to hear this without Apollo Control, static, and the press conferences cluttering up the audio. You’ve done a great job LM.

Over the past year I have watched and listened to your entire Apollo 13 series. This is a great effort on your part. At times it was quite different than the movie - especially the quite less dramatic mid-course corrections and the less-dramatic wait for acquisition of signal at return to Earth. "Ok, Joe." Congrats on a all the work that you have done on this. And a shout out to the late Glynn Lunney, who the movie completely overlooked. How did that happen?

@@wayne7862 thank you for those comments and am glad you have been through the entire mission. I think that's the only way to truly start to understand what these missions were all about. My own feeling has always been that these flights to the moon, were the first explorations that everyone could listen and watch from start to finish... something that had never been done before when people explored any part of the earth...truly astonishing.
