Both Hagar and Sara are well-spoken of in the Bible. However, the Bible also shows mistakes people have made. The Hagar film is inspired by the account that the prophet Moses recorded in the book of Genesis chapter 16. There is another story in Genesis 21! You should check it out: www.bible.com/bible/13/GEN.16.AVD

We Muslims nearing 2 Billion in near future love or beloved great mother Hagar... Hail the great mother giving birth to our ancestor Ishmael 🙏🙏🙏.... Whatever filth or lies or accusations these dirty Jews and Christians say against you, We the entire Muslims now nearly surpassing all the other religions in the world are proud of you mother...The story of Hagar (Hājar in Arabic), the mother of Ishmael (Ismāʿīl), is a significant narrative in Islamic tradition, particularly regarding her migration to Mecca and the divine assistance she received from the angel Jibreel (Gabriel). This story is cherished in Islamic teachings and is commemorated during the annual Hajj pilgrimage. Background Hagar was an Egyptian woman and a maidservant to Sarah, the wife of Prophet Abraham (Ibrāhīm). Because Sarah was initially barren, she gave Hagar to Abraham as a wife so that he might have offspring. Hagar bore Abraham a son, Ishmael, who would later play a crucial role in Islamic tradition. The Migration to Mecca According to Islamic tradition, when Ishmael was still an infant, God commanded Abraham to take Hagar and Ishmael to a barren, desolate valley in the Arabian Peninsula, which would later become Mecca. Following God's command, Abraham brought Hagar and Ishmael to this uninhabited and arid place. He left them there with a small amount of food and water. As Abraham prepared to leave, Hagar, distressed and confused, asked him, "O Abraham, where are you going, leaving us in this barren valley where there is no person whose company we may enjoy, nor is there anything to see?" Abraham did not respond to her queries. She then asked him, "Has Allah commanded you to do so?" When he replied affirmatively, she said, "Then He will not neglect us," showing her faith and submission to God's will. Hagar's Search for Water As the provisions ran out, Hagar's concern for her infant son grew. Desperate for water, she ran seven times between the hills of Safa and Marwah, seeking help or water. This act of running between Safa and Marwah is emulated by Muslims during the Sa'i, a ritual of the Hajj pilgrimage, symbolizing Hagar's unwavering faith and determination. Divine Intervention In her despair, Hagar called out to God for help. According to Islamic tradition, at this moment, the angel Jibreel appeared. Striking the ground with his wing, Jibreel caused a miraculous spring of water to gush forth. This spring is known as Zamzam. Hagar quickly constructed a basin around the water to contain it and began to collect the water in her container. She exclaimed "Zamzam," which means "stop flowing," to control the flow of water. The Development of Mecca The presence of water in the barren valley attracted birds, which led to the discovery of the water source by a passing caravan from the Jurhum tribe. Recognizing the significance of the water source, the tribe asked Hagar for permission to settle in the valley. She agreed on the condition that she retained ownership of the well. Over time, Mecca developed into a vibrant settlement, with Hagar and Ishmael becoming integral to its growth. Legacy and Significance Hagar's story is celebrated for her unwavering faith, perseverance, and trust in God. The Zamzam well continues to be a significant religious site for Muslims, and its water is considered sacred. The Sa'i ritual during Hajj commemorates Hagar's desperate search for water, symbolizing the trials she faced and her reliance on divine assistance. The narrative of Hagar, Ishmael, and the Zamzam well is a profound testament to faith and God's providence in Islamic tradition. Hagar's resilience and the miracle of Zamzam are enduring symbols of hope and divine mercy, deeply embedded in the spiritual heritage of Islam.

We are quoting the phrase "The God Who Sees" but remember that God sees much more than we do When women were regarded as of lesser importance Abraham pleaded that Ishmael be allowed to inherit the promise. God replied, "I made a covenant with Sarah and not just you." God sees us all equal and would you have God change his promise even if he loved Hagar also. As for this phrase so often quoted remember that the Hebrew phrase is changed at the sacrifice of Isaac in the Bible to "The God who will See.". We think this refers to the future Messiah Jesus who wore the crown of thorns. God always keeps his promise.

In the wilderness, hagar and ishmael faced great hardship, including running out of water. In a moment of desperation, Hagar cried out loud to god, and he provided a well for them. this act of divine intervention is seen as a demonstration of god's care and provision for the outcast and marginalized. The story of hagar is a powerful narrative resillience, faith, and the presence of god in times of struggle. It highlights themes of family dynamics, jealousy, mistreatment, and ultimately god's compassion & protection.

From Hagar was born Ishmael, the origin of the Arabs, the origin of the blasphemous faith, Islam. Hagar was still a slave of the Navi Avraham and his wife Sarah. So the descendants of Hagar are inferior compared to the legal wife of the Navi, Sarah who is the source of Isaac who is also the source of the Yisraelites the people chosen by HaShem.

Its a blasphemy to liken Our Creator to a human being. If we look at the universe, earth is not even a speck let alone a single human being. So how do you accept God to be degraded in this way? "No vision can comprehend Allah, and He comprehends all visions, and He is Absolutely Subtle, All-Aware. Say, Allah is One. The All Sufficient Master. He begets not nor was He begotten. There is none co-equal or comparable to Him." -Quran

Abraham's early teachings had not been without effect upon Ishmael, but the influence of his wives resulted in the establishment of idolatry in his family. Separated from his father and embittered by the strife and contention of a home destitute of the love and fear of God, Ishmael was driven to choose the wild, marauding life of the desert chief, “his hand against every man, and every man's hand against him.” Genesis 16:12. In his latter days he repented and returned to his father's God, but the stamp of character given to his posterity remained. The powerful nation descended from him were a turbulent, heathen people. This is a result of the Middle East people of this nation coming from Ismael.

The birth of Isaac filled the tents of Abraham and Sarah with gladness, but to Hagar this event was the overthrow of her fondly cherished ambitions. Ishmael had been regarded by all as the heir of Abraham's wealth and the inheritor of the blessings promised his descendants. Now he was suddenly set aside. Mother and son hated the child of Sarah. The general rejoicing increased their jealousy, until Ishmael dared openly to mock the heir of God's promise. Sarah saw in Ishmael's turbulent disposition a perpetual source of discord, and she appealed to Abraham that Hagar and Ishmael be sent away. The patriarch was thrown into great distress. How could he banish Ishmael his son, still dearly beloved? In his perplexity he pleaded for divine guidance. Through a holy angel the Lord directed him to grant Sarah's desire; only thus could he restore harmony and happiness to his family. The angel gave him the promise that Ishmael would not be forsaken by God and he would become the father of a great nation. Abraham obeyed, but not without keen suffering. The father's heart was heavy as he sent away Hagar and his son. The sacredness of the marriage relation was to be a lesson for all ages. The rights and happiness of this relation are to be carefully guarded, even at great sacrifice. Sarah was the only true wife of Abraham. Her rights no other person was entitled to share.

When Abraham was nearly one hundred years old, the promise of a son was repeated: “Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac; and I will establish My covenant with him.” “As for Ishmael,” He said, “Behold, I have blessed him, ... and I will make him a great nation.”

God had called Abraham to be the father of the faithful, and his life was to stand as an example of faith to succeeding generations. But his faith had not been perfect. He had shown distrust of God in concealing the fact that Sarah was his wife, and again in his marriage with Hagar.

Polygamy had become so widespread that it had ceased to be regarded as a sin, but it was no less a violation of the law of God, and was fatal to the sacredness and peace of the family relation. Abraham's marriage with Hagar resulted in evil, not only to his own household, but to future generations…

Gen 16:4 - "As soon as Hagar knew she was pregnant, her mistress lost stature in her eyes." Hagar treated Sarai with contempt. According to John Gottman's peer-reviewed research, contempt is the single greatest predictor of relationship breakdown. Eyerolling, audible sighs, hostile humor, mockery, all snide words and sounds under the breath or louder - expressing "I AM BETTER THAN YOU AND YOU ARE LESS THAN ME" - these things that show that we despise our husbands, wives, parents, brothers and sisters - these are like sulphuric acid poured out to destroy relationships. While Sarah was definitely harsh, this contemptuous attitude is the CAUSE of Sarah's maltreatment of Hagar! Consider that this chapter started with Sarai placing favor on Hagar but contempt turned that favor 180 degrees into harsh treatment. Contempt is so corrosive that Abram and Sarai were okay with sacrificing their promise of a child from GOD just to be rid of Hagar and her behavior. Can you imagine that? Contempt can take a relationship of gold and turn it into a dynasty of hatred. ************************************************************************************************ So when Hagar meets the angel of the Lord by the spring, is it not wisdom that GOD immediately tells her the antidote to her oppression? - Gives her the fix to the harsh treatment: "GO BACK TO YOUR MISTRESS AND SUBMIT TO HER AUTHORITY." In Hebrew, the direct translation is - "... submit yourself under her hand." Submission is the direct opposite of contempt. Where you seek to show your elevated position, the Lord was saying - respect the other person's position. THE LORD WAS SURELY NOT SENDING HAGAR BACK INTO SUFFERING! HE WAS PRESCRIBING A NEW BEHAVIOR TO PREVENT THE SUFFERING!! The command IS prescriptive as it gives the attitude of submission - respect and obedience - as an antidote to the corrosive attitude of contempt. Please do not read this as GOD sending Hagar back into suffering. He prescribed a behavior to REMOVE suffering and RENEW the relationship. Along with that command, He gave a blessing. As long as the command was followed - peace reigned. Read on and see what happens in GEN 21, v9 when Ishmael mocks Isaac. CONTEMPT AGAIN! May all your relationships be blessed and renewed in the name of Jesus. May these words be useful to you by God's grace. Where you have shown contempt towards one above you, try submission - to eliminate suffering. Of course, this does not prescribe obedience to an evil one. Sarah was not evil. In fact, all this started with her placing favor on Hagar, she had other maid servants, she could have probably given to Abram. Proverbs 30:32-33 - If you have foolishly been proud or presumptuous-put your hand on your mouth; For as the churning of milk produces curds, and the pressing of the nose produces blood, the churning of anger produces strife.

Ishmael was a child of his mother Hagar who got lost and came out with water and drank from thirst. The area is the city of Mecca. We Muslims celebrate annually after Ishmael’s survival when he saw a vision of Abraham in which God commanded him to sacrifice his son Ishmael, and after he and his son believed the vision, God then commanded him to slaughter a sacrifice in place of his son.Glory be to God, the God of Abraham, and the prophets, the people of patience and determination in worshiping God. In the Qur’an, Noah, Jesus, David, and Jacob, Israel and his son Joseph, John, Zechariah, Elijah, and Elisha. Peace be upon Iyas and Muhammad, the illiterate prophet who neither reads nor writes. Amen.
