Myofascial pain syndrome is the most common manifestation of chronic pain. Systematic palpation of the soft tissue is the only diagnosis to date. Dry needling is the most effective treatment for myofascial trigger points

These charlatans always have a million excuses for why their therapy doesn't work. It's incredible that something straight out of 1800s snake oil scams is embraced by a large portion of the medical community as well as KZbin (which deprioritizes critical content about craniosacral therapy).

Hello guys from Germany, The trend shows that more more surgeons are starting to use quad autografts for ACL reconstruction. Multi million soccer players in europe like leroy sane or or david alaba all got quad grafts after tearing their ACL. Whats good for them should bei good for me, thats why i chose Quad tendon as well.

after ACL Injury (grade 1) how many days should take rest and after how many days one should start walking? and doing some basic exercise like quadriceps sets, and straight leg raises?

Early focus is on swelling management and regaining mobility. Short-term crutch use until walking is normalized. Basic exercises can be performed very early on to restore muscular control

I had my ACL injury (Grade 1) 3 weeks back and till then I was in rest, how much rest I should give to the knee? is walking and doing regular movement will be bad? and need your suggestion for few exercise which I can start from home? and Should I follow any bracing protocol? Thanks for the video.
@physioshow

Grade 1 injuries do not result in knee instability, so the initial management is rest and then gradual return to activity as symptoms allow. Bracing is not typically needed for a grade 1 sprain. I recommend seeing a physical therapist that can tailor exercises to your needs. Good luck! 👍

@towkirfarhan8978 Sorry, not exactly sure what the question is, but if it's partially torn then it's more severe than a grade 1. Again, I still recommend following up with a physio for specific recommendations. We don't provide medical advice for specific cases. Good luck! 💪

Hi, good information. One question does acl tear causes rotational instability in knee specifically posteolateral instability. Which exercises are good if pateint has no anterior but only rotational instability? Thanks
@physioshow
@physioshow 11 күн бұрын
Hello, thanks for the comment. Posterolateral instability commonly occurs with injury to the posterolateral corner (PLC) which is made up of the popliteus tendon, lateral collateral ligament, and knee joint capsule. This injury can occur with an ACL injury. Exercises that would help with anterior instability would focus on hamstring strength, as the hamstrings resist anterior translation of the tibia on the femur, which is the function of the ACL.

@@physioshow : You are partly right with the "pressure" we work with. It is a very low pressure on the sensitive bones, for example the hyoid bone. But it is much more of pressure for example on the pelvic bones. The secret is: Gentle, but steady! So, it is not the "pressure" alone, but the time you hold this in order to give the tissue the opportunity to release at its own pace. That can take a minute, 2 minutes or longer. Very different from chiropractic work. But much more respectful of the body structure I'm currently working on.

Perhaps it isn't the fluid movement that cause the problem. And perhaps the movement is just a symptom and not the cause. Perhaps we can't measure it. But the treatment works!!! It can be that the tiny movements the therapist makes changes the pressure and release in the fibroblasts and neurons start a process to change biochemistry and bioelectricity. Remember: Once humans aren't able to mesure magnetic fields. Being not able to measure it doesn't tell you that there's no magnetic fields at all. And that therapists feel different problems in the soft tissue doesn't mean that that's all nonsense. It's the same in physiotherapists. One is specialized to joints an other in soft tissue problems. Are they wrong? No. It's just another focus.

Absolutely nailed it. Went to a physical therapist today to treat my horizontal meniscus tear. He wanted me to do squats, leg presses and several other exercises which I've heard are not good for people with meniscus tears. I had to tell him twice how uncomfortable I felt and he launched into this whole tirade with medical terms IN FRONT OF someone else who was in there training at the same time so he could "prove" his point that leg presses with fully extended knees were A-OK. When that didn't work on me he would just bark out an exercise, show it once and then disappear to go to his second or third client; leaving me completely unattended.

I injured my knee 3 mos. ago. Just had a MRI and it shows a medial meniscus root tear, stress fracture, Baker's cyst & significant bone edema. Also showed full-thickness cartilage loss of the knee. My Ortho surgeon says I'm not a good candidate for root tear surgery for now, and ordered modified activity w/a walker for 4-6 wks. I'm afraid the only hope is a TKR. So painful.

@JennLexiy They can go in arthroscopically and remove scar tissue without removing the replacment. It is also common to perform this procedure in combination with a manipulation under anesthesia. Do you know of any places that do Real-Time MRI or Cine PC MRI? I have had a catching sensation ever since my ACLR. It came very early if not just after. Couldn't do the "sit on the table and try to straighten and bend your leg", because I could not bend it again. Also had a hard time biking because of the catching. Now 3 surgeries and 1,5 years down the road, they still can't figure out what causes the catching. It doesn't show on the normal MRI, because it happens in motion. My knee is now much worse than before my reconstruction. It is very stable, but I am very limited in my life because of the catching and pain now.

This depends on the surgeons protocol. But typically, you will work on range of motion exercises within a specified range of motion to avoid over straining the repaired meniscus as well as some straight leg hip and knee motor exercises to improve muscle control. I suggest discussing specifics with your physical therapist so that they can taylor your program to your needs. Good luck! 👍
