That's very much my view. It would've avoid the 46 years rule of the National Party and the current kleptocracy of the ANC, which I see largely as two sides of the same coin.

Hi Arron, a huge thanks for such a lovely review of this little story of mine, and indeed for taking the time to review all of the stories in Garbology. Very happy that you enjoyed 'Celestial Carnage'! And I particularly appreciate the encouragement to write more - all I'll say is there will be more to come from me, and some of it definitely continues the 'animal attack' theme, as well as wilderness/nature settings - as one of those crazy people who enjoys camping that's where my inspiration often comes from 😉 Thanks again, all the best to you! 😀

This may be a dumb question but why do some authors write under pseudonyms?
@arronjameshook
@arronjameshook 13 күн бұрын
It depends on the author. Sometimes they're required to due to their jobs. For some, they like the anonymity and others do because they're writing in a different genre from their normal output.

I write under pseudonyms so that clients don't get mad at me for the degenerate behavior of my characters. Sex and violence sells, but it might also get you fired. A pseudonym is a barrier to the real world.

Three parties in the USA…very interesting, and I like your rationale for the third party arising. But, having lived here, I can’t see it happening. But this is a great, detailed view of a possible parallel universe. You should write a future history based on this sweeping scenario. I occasionally ponder the idea of the Empire not falling apart, and the UK still having the US as a colony, but there would be so many aspects to consider it is too overwhelming!
@arronjameshook

I was originally just going to say the Republicans win the White House in the elections during the 2030s and 2040s in a similar manner to the Republicans after the Civil War and the Democrats between 1933 and 1953. However, I thought people would say that wasn't possible and a Democratic split would be more believable. The scenario for something I'm going to write in the future, but at the moment I'm going to concentrate on writing about the 2024-2050 period in the UK. One way you could do the scenario is that Wolfe dies before Quebec and the Spanish don't enter the Seven Years War, which means that the Seven Years War still ends in a French defeat with the economic crisis that causes the revolution in 1789, but the French keep Louisiana and Quebec. That way the American Colonies will remain loyal and history in Europe will continue as normal. It would be interesting to imagine if Louisiana and Quebec would remain Royalists or become Republican. If they became Republican, you could see a North American land campaign during the Napoleonic Wars as well as the French continuing their efforts to detain Haiti.
